[00:00:00] Latest and Greatest Regarding Healing and Prevention of Chronic Diseases: The Importance of Plant-Based Eating and Sprouting for Health

Ryan Sternagel: Ian, the traditional first question for you as folks are logging on. Maybe your travels from Germany will inspire this answer. You cheated last time, so I’m hoping for something better. You’re not allowed to talk about Purium or collagen in your answer. This is a chronic disease, chronic condition-focused audience. What’s on your mind these days when it comes to healing or preventing chronic conditions and staying healthy? Last time, you said something about getting all the nutrients your body needs, that was a Purium answer; That was cheating.

Ian Farrar: Getting back to the Garden of Eden; How about that? Getting back to all those colorful, beautiful things that are available to us as nature intended; I’m crazy about that. In fact, I found better restaurants in Berlin, Germany, than I find here in the United States. There are 80 plant-based restaurants in Berlin. I was incredibly pleased with the freshness and didn’t have to worry about glyphosate or any of that junk in food.

Ryan Sternagel: That’s big. We’ve had our greenhouse for a few years. The magic ingredient to making it work is getting out there every day and working on it, which has not been present so far. But it has been for the past few months. It’s neat to see all my own food growing and not have to worry about buying organic at the stores and getting overspray or runoff from surrounding non-organic crops. Especially with the new Appeal stuff—that coating coming out.

Ian Farrar: It’s sketchy. In fact, I get sprouts delivered to me from West Palm Beach. I get these big bags of sunflower sprouts, pea sprouts, and broccoli sprouts. I get it in a day; it’s in dry ice. I cut it up, and I have my salad.

Daniel Bushnell: I have a guy at the farmer’s market who grows it in trays. He brings me these two-by-two trays. Every week, I get split peas, ligavum, lentils, and broccoli sprouts. I get three or four, and I munch on that like a rabbit for the whole week. It’s great.

Ian Farrar: I’ve been a rabbit.

Ryan Sternagel: I’ll make a plug for sprouting. If anyone isn’t doing their own sprouts—sunflower sprouts and the stuff you’ve got to do in the dirt—I haven’t gotten into that yet. I probably would get that delivered if I had a good source like that. As far as broccoli sprouts, alfalfa, and all the things you can grow in a little jar—it’s pretty awesome. If anybody hasn’t seen our sprouting video on our Stern Method YouTube channel, you should watch that.

Daniel Bushnell: I haven’t watched it. I’ll check that out right now.

[00:03:13] Ian Farrar’s Journey in Holistic Health and Superfoods

Ryan Sternagel: Both of you fine gentlemen—maybe starting with Ian—do you want to introduce yourselves? You’re both repeat guests, but I’m sure not everyone was on the first one. Ian, do you want to let everyone know a little bit about yourself, who you are, and what you’re doing here?

Ian Farrar: Sure, absolutely. My name is Ian Farrar. It’s great to be with you here today, Ryan. I have 27 years in the health and wellness space. I had a great opportunity to align myself with a superfood movement. I was a full-time cyclist at the time and wanted to treat my body naturally.

I’ve embraced the holistic way of living versus what we’ve been indoctrinated to believe—the opposite, in terms of the food pyramid; That’s creating a lot of the disorder in many people’s lives. I’ve been with this type of business for close to 30 years now. I’m passionate about waking people up to their potential with a holistic, natural lifestyle.

For the past 20 years, I’ve been the founding brand partner with an organic superfood company, which we’re going to get into in a little bit.

[00:04:21] Daniel Bushnell’s Health Journey and Focus on Anti-Aging

Ryan Sternagel: It’s the best. Daniel, tell folks about yourself. What’s on your mind? What rabbit holes have you been going down in the health world these days? I know you could talk for an hour about that, but keep it brief.

Daniel Bushnell: I was raised on a farm. I got a lot of my feel for nature there, but I didn’t fully appreciate it until I left the farm and lived in the cities. Then I thought, “My God, the farm was like the garden of plenty and beauty and health and longevity.  Now I’m in this death factory.” It was hard to do. I was on my way to becoming a doctor because I like helping people, and it bothers me to see people suffer when I know there’s an answer, and they don’t have to go down that path, but we’re not taught that.

My path to med school was pretty straight until I had a medical accident from a doctor’s mistake that destroyed a huge portion of my brain. It took me decades to reverse that through spiritual healing, learning, and all kinds of stuff. That’s become my passion—sharing what I’ve learned about how to avoid the pathways that lead to aging, sickness, death, or despair. That’s my passion; It’s grown and grown—it’s just gotten a little more honed. I want to focus specifically on anti-aging because a lot of my friends are over 40, being generous. I see that they’re doing things that could be prevented, and I want to share with them the things I’ve learned.

Like you teach, Ryan, you have so many healing modalities on your website and in your group. I love what you’re doing—the impact you’re making on thousands of people’s lives and on the planet. I want to be part of that, but my specific focus is on anti-aging, which is a perfect intro to today’s specific subject on one topic.

Ryan Sternagel: It’s a big piece of it. I have to be honest, the term “anti-aging” has always driven me crazy. Even things like “biohacking” and stuff. I guess I’m jaded, coming from the view of reversing and preventing chronic disease. I was listening to the biohacking people and the anti-aging people, it’s detoxification, neutrifying your body. We’re all talking about the same stuff, but I guess you’ve got to put your little spin on it depending on what crowd you’re talking to.

For me, fighting for my one-year-old son’s life, I was fighting for him to age—not just age gracefully and all that, but to have a long, happy, healthy life. That being said, there are fundamentals to all of it.

[00:07:17] Collagen Production, Health Benefits, and Natural Solutions

Ryan Sternagel: Today, we’re talking about collagen and how it’s all the rage to go out and buy some ground-up animal skin and bones, whereas your own body is perfectly capable of producing collagen—and lots of it—if you give yourself the right nutrients.

Daniel, I had been researching collagen in my preventing and reversing chronic disease research, and I stumbled across Dr. Matthias Rath. His research on collagen was about getting the body to make more of it itself. He wasn’t telling everybody to go out and buy the ground-up animal skin and bones.

His research on cancer and the extracellular matrix—if you’ve got plenty of collagen, then you’ve got a strong extracellular matrix. That’s going to prevent cancer cells from spreading. If you do have a tumor (or even if you don’t), it’s going to keep them contained in the place they need to be contained. It makes sense because you’ve got a strong, healthy extracellular matrix—that glue that holds everything together.

I’ve been focused on collagen for a long time in my chronic disease research, but not to the extent that Purium has taken it. A lot of nutrients that you guys have in your products and the collagen support pack (which we’ll be talking about today) are all great nutrients.

When you read down the list, it’s like, “Oh, these are great.” I said this in my email too, “These are great nutrients for a lot of different things, not just for producing collagen.” I was using most of them for anti-cancer stuff, let alone collagen support. Put all these nutrients together, I’ve been taking it.

I’ve been taking the collagen support for months now. Daniel got me turned on to it through an entirely different, circuitous route. It wasn’t about collagen per se or keeping cancer cells contained per se—it was about growing your hair back.

I had written a couple of emails about how I was starting to thin out in the back and how I was looking into reversing that and all that good stuff. That’s when Daniel showed me a picture of his… you had a way bigger bald spot than I did. Now you’ve got that long, beautiful head of hair, Daniel.

Daniel Bushnell: It took a lot of research, like you did. Your point is so profound and underlies everything we’re going to talk about today—and almost everything that you do—which is that God and nature designed us perfectly.

Everything in nature has an answer for any issue we’ve got going on. We need to honor that—do a little digging, climbing, plucking, or fermenting—and get that into us in a way we can use it to grow into the way we’re supposed to be.

You read about the biblical patriarchs who lived 500, 600, 800 years. I go, “God, people are dying in their 40s? This is a sin. We need to do something about this.” That’s why I’m here.

Ryan Sternagel: Quick couple of reminders—please don’t take anything you hear here as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It’s just a few guys talking about things we’ve learned and things we think we know.

Who’s kicking us off? Daniel, are you kicking us off, or what are we doing here?

[00:11:17] Laying the Foundation: Philosophy and Steps for Collagen Support

Daniel Bushnell: My talk today is pretty much a review for many people. Maybe there are some little points here and there that would help somebody, but the whole gist of it is to get the main thrust of this message into someone’s psyche without question, so that they go, “Oh My God, this is how we do it.” Ian will take it from there and talk about the products and how they work. This is more like the philosophy of: what do we do? How do we think? What’s step one, step two, and how do we go?

I have a very short slideshow that I would like to show and talk about while we’re doing that.

[00:11:51] Understanding Collagen: Its Role, History, and Discovery

Daniel Bushnell: The gist of what I want to say today is the absolute miracle of collagen. We’re going to talk about what it is, how it works in your body, and how you can benefit from it.

The word “collagen” originally comes from the Greek word “kolla,” which means glue, which is appropriate because collagen is what holds our whole body together. 30% of all our body’s protein is Collagen. It is what makes up skin, muscle, bone, and connective tissues. It’s also found in our organs—it lines our organs and blood vessels. It helps blood flow, prevents the vessels from deteriorating, and does the same in our gut; It’s huge in our gut.

Who first discovered collagen? Many people think it was Linus Pauling—not true. Other people you interview will think it’s those guys who came up with DNA and the triple helix of DNA. No, it’s a triple helix, but it’s a different triple helix.

The man who discovered collagen was an interesting scientist from India with the name Gopalasamudram Narayanan Ramachandran. (He needs collagen to even pronounce his own name).

He hit the scientific hotspot at that time. It was such a movement among scientists. We think of scientists as these cold, dry intellectuals, but some of them can be the most competitive dogs you’ve ever met, wanting to get their name in print forever. There was a lot of that going on.

He’s indisputable. His work was so profound he started being asked to speak at universities and do seminars, and nobody could pronounce his name. They decided to call him GNR; That’s what he’s known as today. All his work is summarized in a collection of studies and interesting philosophies called the Ramachandran plot. You can Google that if you’re one of those research types.

[00:14:00] Collagen Components, Nutrients, and Decline Over Time

Daniel Bushnell: What’s in collagen? It’s made up of a few amino acids; Proline, glycine, and hydroxyproline are the main ones, although arginine is in there a little, along with a couple of others in modest doses. There are some other nutrients required for your body to make it. That was divine design; The body is designed to make collagen.

Any foods that you eat that have these ingredients—proline, glycine, hydroxyproline, or vitamin C, zinc, copper, manganese, and trace elements—will stimulate collagen production in your body; You’ll have the experience.

Most people don’t do that, so what’s the result? Typically, when people start losing their collagen, it happens in their mid-twenties or early thirties for most people. The average loss of collagen is 1% per year. By the time you get to 40, the decline curve exponentially gets bigger; You start seeing a tank.

By the time you’re 60, it takes another deep dive. If you’re not doing prevention by that point, you need to make sure you have a good friend who’s good at makeup.

[00:15:10] Recognizing the Signs of Collagen Loss and Its Impact on Health

Daniel Bushnell: Signs of collagen loss are pretty obvious, but I wanted to cover them in case anybody’s still young and doesn’t have to pay attention to these. Hopefully, for the rest of us who’ve had to endure this journey, it might light a fire in our belly to get excited about what we can do to reverse this process.

Skin wrinkling, hollowing of the face and eyes—it’s a shrinking, gaunt look. I’m wondering if that’s maybe where the word Halloween came from; Just a thought.

Muscles start to shrink, weaken, and atrophy. Mobility gets less and less. Joints become stiffer—you can’t move as much. Then when it starts to hurt, you need to start paying attention. Gut problems. Finally, blood flow issues.

It’s interesting that collagen lines our blood vessels. The more collagen you have, the better blood flow you get. With better blood flow, you get more oxygen, more nutrition, and fewer infections. Collagen is the universal healer; It’s that good. That’s why we call it a miracle.

[00:16:18] Reversing Collagen Loss: Avoiding Key Damaging Factors

Daniel Bushnell: How do we fix these issues? What can we do to reverse our loss?

First, we can avoid behaviors and choices that cause damage in the first place. Smoking is number one; Period, there’s nothing after that. You need to exit the stage left with smoking. If you’re at a party with secondhand, you might make a statement and wear a huge mask, but otherwise, leave.

Unwise sun exposure can also have an effect. Ideally, the sun is best for your body before 10 a.m., ideally up to 11 a.m. Avoid excessive ultraviolet light—that’s like smoking, so avoid it. Exit stage right.

Too much sugar and refined carbs will cause your body to make AGEs, end products that damage our tissues. This does not include fruit. Most fruit has sugar in it that is much gentler for the body and doesn’t end up causing AGEs for lots of reasons. That’s worth mentioning because we’re designed to be fruit-eating creatures. The problem sugars are the manmade ones and the highly refined carbs.

There are also some autoimmune diseases that damage collagen, like lupus and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Those are things to be aware of.

[00:17:57] Boosting Collagen Naturally: Aligning with Your Body’s Design

Daniel Bushnell: What can we do to increase our body’s supply of collagen? The answer is—it’s not collagen. Your body cannot digest collagen in its whole form.

If you consume collagen-rich foods, you will end up with metabolic wastes in your system because the body cannot digest collagen. It has to break it down into its component amino acids before it can start making collagen. What you end up with is a lot of waste products in that process, and you become more toxic. You want to start eating more consciously to produce your body’s collagen.

Eating collagen-rich foods does not lead to higher levels of collagen in your body because it has to be broken down into amino acids first.

We’re not designed by our creator to be a carnivore, a pescatarian, an omnivore, or even an herbivore; We’re designed to be a frugivore. If you want to Google that, you’ll see an entire cosmology of all the animals, including details like the length of teeth, bite mechanics (vertical or horizontal), time food spends in the stomach, length of the intestinal tract, and all that sort of stuff. When you align yourself with your divine design, you’re healthy.

We have adapted—that’s another gift of our creator. We have the free will to screw up and pay the price. We’ve adapted to many different desires, but we can’t thrive on them. We pay a price for switching off and leaving the golden path.

[00:19:32] Plant-Based Foods for Collagen Production

Daniel Bushnell: What can we eat to increase our body’s supply of collagen? The answer is going to come from the plant kingdom. It’s basically plants and foods that contain those nutrients through which our body can make collagen, namely vitamin C, which is hugely important.

The most common sources of vitamin C are pretty standard—berries, greens, and so forth. Proline is typically found in spirulina, chives, cabbage, lentils, seaweed, and asparagus. Glycine is found in spirulina as well, seaweed, seeds, and nuts.

Copper is a trace element found in mushrooms, tofu, sweet potatoes, dark chocolate, and avocados. Zinc is mostly in nuts, seeds, mushrooms, and my favorite fruit of all, durian.

[00:20:27] Introducing Purium’s Signature Collagen Support Pack

Daniel Bushnell: Or better yet, simply order the Purium Signature Collagen Support Pack. It has everything pre-designed from the years and decades of experience of Dave Sandoval. With all his enzyme-rich grasses grown in certain areas with rich soils and ocean minerals, he’s gathered all these things over his career, and it’s all put into the Signature Collagen Support Pack.

This collection contains the most effective natural ingredients for us to regenerate our own collagen from the inside out. That’s the heart of today’s message. Here’s the collagen support pack.

[00:21:10] Success Stories with Collagen Support for Hair Regrowth

Daniel Bushnell: I have a quick note—Ryan alluded to this earlier. There’s one product in the collagen support pack that’s about renewing hair, skin, and nails. I have seen so many miracles with this product myself. I regrew my hair three separate times using this product.

You might ask, “Why three separate times? Why not once?” I’m dumber than I look. I thought, “Now I’ve got my hair back and my mojo back. I don’t have to keep these things up as much.” I went off and did my life and ended up paying the price again. I said, “Darn, I’ve got to go back,” redid my protocol, and grew it back. I did it three times.

Hopefully, I’ve learned. I now have a more healthy and robust daily nutrient regimen. I’ll never have to go that route again.

[00:21:57] Introducing Super Amino 23: Protein for Recovery and Performance

Daniel Bushnell: Super Amino 23 is the last thing I want to talk about. This is not in the collagen support pack, but it’s such an amazing product that I have to share it with you. It’s called Super Amino 23 because it’s based on amino acids. The “23” means it takes 23 minutes to get fully digested into your system.

The product was originally designed for cancer patients who were in hospitals and immobile—they couldn’t move—they started getting cachexia, wasting, sarcopenia, and all these conditions of depletion, which came from protein deficiency. Super Amino was given to them, and they all started regaining their weight and maintaining a modest amount of muscle mass.

The athletes who got ahold of this said, “God, if it brings back the dead to semi-living, maybe a healthy person can become a super athlete by taking this.” Lo and behold, that’s what happened.

They did a study—I forget how many people, Ian, you might remember. It was either 200 or hundreds and hundreds of world-class champion athletes who used this product. They claimed this was the basis of their achievements, one after another, including Olympic gold medalists from all countries. It’s an amazing product.

If you have any interest in health and longevity, this needs to be a part of your ongoing daily regimen. What is the most important thing in your health? Protein. That comes from the Greek word “proteos,” which means primary or of first importance.

It doesn’t mean that you need to eat lots of protein. In fact, many nutritionists say your ideal caloric ratio of protein to the rest of your diet, caloric-wise, should be 10%. There are a lot of books and research on that. You don’t need tons of protein—you need the right protein; That’s what we have here.

Without further ado, I’d like to return you to my mentor, my good friend, a world-class cycling champion, Mr. Ian Farrar. Thank you.

Ian Farrar: Thanks a lot, Daniel. That was a great PowerPoint. It’s such a blessing to have known you for the past—coming up on 12 years.

[00:24:27] Holistic Nutrition and the Role of Super Amino 23 in Regeneration

Ian Farrar: This is a picture of me in 2000. Wow, it’s going way back there. I was a full-time cyclist in my twenties. I wanted to approach my athleticism naturally because, as you may or may not have heard, there’s a lot of PEDs (performance-enhancing drugs) used in endurance sports.

I wasn’t going to be one of those individuals. A lot of people I know went that route. They went on to bigger and better things, but then they were exposed for all the fraudulent, incredible achievements athletically that were abnormal. The Tour de France is happening right now. Sometimes we’ve watched it in the past, and I’m like, “That’s not normal.”

The Super Amino 23, the overall Purium offering—from the superfood aspect to getting your nutrients at a cellular level—is the foundation for my day-to-day.

Given the fact that we were speaking about the Super Amino 23, I’ve taken hundreds of thousands of these tablets. They’re an excipient, binder, and filler-free tablet. It’s a non-soy legume; It’s a white tablet. They’re candy for me. I don’t recommend that anyone chew them (they’re bitter), but I’ve developed a taste for them over the years; You take 5 to 10 a day. It’s a great addition to the collagen support pack, given how important a role protein plays in our bodies. Given the fact that it’s utilized by the working muscle and anywhere in your body by 99% in 23 minutes, that’s pretty awesome. If you eat quinoa, meat, or any source of protein, a lot of that utilization is lost through the digestive process.

As Daniel also mentioned, the products you see at Whole Foods and other stores (I’m not going to name companies), the bovine collagen, the chicken part collagen, you’re not going to develop the healthy collagen that you desire.

We’ve developed a system where we can help the body regenerate itself over time—not overnight. The Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails product right here—this has been with the product line for 20 years. I’ve been taking it on and off during that period of time.

I’m going to be 55 years old, and recently I’ve been starting to see a little loss of hair that my wife reminds me of. I’m not the person to take a flight somewhere and get it transplanted from here to here. I’m committed to taking Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails consistently for a year along with the Dark Berry Protein, which we’ll get into.

I’m a holistic guy. I believe that the body can regenerate itself, and I’m committed to making that happen. When it comes to skin tone, fine lines, and wrinkles, I’m closer to 60 than I am to 50. I take great care of myself with these micronutrients and phytonutrient foods—not isolated nutrients. Big difference between isolated nutrients and whole food nourishment.

[00:27:53] The Science and Tradition Behind Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails Formula

Ryan Sternagel: Talking about the Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails and the Dark Berry Protein, which is the basis of the collagen support—it’s interesting.

Going back to when I was researching collagen in the anti-healing, chronic disease research, back to talking about Dr. Matthias Rath and his work on collagen preventing cancer cells from spreading and all that stuff.

He recommended a lot of things, but the basis of it was vitamin C, lysine or glycine, and proline, which you mentioned there, Daniel. They’re great amino acids, but then I’m looking at the ingredients of the Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails, and there’s no single amino acid in there. Even though, like you said, the Super Amino 23 is a great product—I love taking amino acids anyway—I’m guessing that all of these ingredients in the Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails are loaded in the whole food versions of these things you need to make more collagen. Am I on the right path there?

Daniel Bushnell: 100%. You are.

Ian Farrar: I’d like to speak to this because this is a master formula from Eastern medicine as well as Ayurvedic medicine. The first ingredient—I should have brought my glasses. This is showing my age a little bit, but I do have a product for that, but this is not for this webinar.

The first ingredient is Foti. The second ingredient is MSM. Sulfur happens to be the third most abundant element in the human body. Sulfur is key to the production of collagen and many other things in the body. You have horsetail, organic bamboo, organic dandelion, saw palmetto, kelp, ginger root, organic grapeseed extract, and lutein—you have all of these compounds that work to build the structure of healthy collagen in the body.

I take this every day. I take six capsules a day—that’s the serving. When you look at the formula, if you look up some of these ingredients online, you’ll see the benefit of what we’re discussing here, whether it be hair, skin, nails, or overall collagen production.

Ryan Sternagel: I alluded to before— yes, we’re talking about collagen here, but you listed off all those ingredients. Those were pretty much all of them—things I was rotating through and incorporating for general anti-cancer purposes. You’re getting a two-for-one, or maybe even much more than a two-for-one.

Ian Farrar: That’s the beauty of Purium. There’s so much crossover. Saw palmetto, for example, is good for a man’s prostate. There’s a lot of cross-benefit in consuming a superfood lifestyle or products that are focused in this arena.

Daniel Bushnell: One thing I’d like to add to what you’re saying, Ryan. One of my favorite anti-aging gurus is Li Ching-Yuen, who lived to be, it varies, but some say 250 years old. The researchers have to agree that he was not less than 197. He was married 23 times and was on his 24th wife when he passed away. I don’t know if that’s literal. He said in his book that he attributed his first hundred years to goji berries. His second hundred years, he attributed to Fo-Ti (He Shou Wu). That was his number one ingredient, so I figured, wow, that’s pretty cool.

[00:32:17] Collagen Support for Inner Health and Longevity

Ian Farrar: The other thing, too, that I want to reference—recently, I traveled to Germany, and my health never goes on vacation. I had a backpack that was exclusively for my regimen. It’s not, “Oh, I’m going to go away and then come back to my regimen.” I brought all of these products. It’s like taking your body into the shop, constantly tuning, adjusting, and giving your body what it needs. Your body is the most amazing organism, but it’s neglected.

We want to offer a platform and a way for people to support themselves on many levels.

From the aesthetic aspect, I know people are into looking good, but as Daniel said, your blood vessels and a lot of other things—everything has collagen. If the collagen breaks down, that’s where a blood vessel could pop.

We know what happens when things pop. You’ve got to keep the elastin and the collagen strong. This is not all about hair, skin, and nails. This is about the inner workings of the human body that needs to be strong and healthy. Like an aneurysm, for example—it pops because the blood vessel gets so weak, and there’s a catastrophic effect.

[00:33:29] The Power of Dark Berry Protein in Collagen Formation and Daily Nutrition

Ryan Sternagel: Ian, you talked about Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails. I think that’s probably the big one. Then the Dark Berry Protein goes right along with it.

Ian Farrar: This is the Dark Berry Protein. Dave, like I said before, is an incredible master in his formulations, and there are all of the key berries.

If you look at the benefits of blueberries, blackberries—they’re very high in anthocyanidins and proanthocyanidins. Dave also has grapeseed extract in the Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails, which is all helpful in the formation of collagen.

Believe it or not, there’s some humic and fulvic acid in the Dark Berry Protein as well, which is also a detoxifier. We spoke about that on our last webinar regarding another product.

This is incredibly tasty; It’s Dark Berry. This is a product that was sold in Europe for a long period of time with our sister brand, Platinum Health Products. We brought it to the States and rebranded this collagen pack because we only had Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails.

This duo right here is incredible. This is part of my daily regimen. For the people who like a wonderfully tasting shake—that’s berry and almond milk or even water—it’s awesome. All these berries are going to work to help build collagen that’s been lost, whether from neglect or because your body needs a way to regenerate itself above and beyond what you’ve been doing daily.

Ryan Sternagel: That’s a super tasty shake. I haven’t been a big shake guy in the past, but I’ve been taking that, and I’ve been loving it. It’s great, just water. I do my little kettlebell workout every morning, take some amino acids before, and some of the Dark Berry Protein afterward; It’s quite the combo.

[00:35:35] The Importance of Quality Nutrition for Healthy Aging and Collagen Support

Ian Farrar: As I share with people, you’ve got to be in it to win it. The more you have a better relationship with your daily regimen, the better your body will (hopefully) have a relationship with you. That’s been my experience.

My regimen is quite extensive. For people that want to start out this way—fantastic. For people that want to add some of the other products into their lives—fantastic.

A lot of people in our society want to look good. The more you look good internally, the better you look on the outside. Think about that for a second. For close to 30 years, I’ve been living a very clean lifestyle, and I happen to think that I’m aging well. But there are other people who do all the other things—they smoke, they drink, they live a poor lifestyle—and unfortunately, you see it on the outside; It’s called oxidation.

We need oxidation to thrive and live, believe it or not. This is a healthy way of preventing cellular death and helping cells replicate, which is the key to healthy aging—not anti-aging—healthy.

Ryan Sternagel: I don’t know how many people on the call have been going by the store shelves at Whole Foods. It’s ridiculous how many different collagen products there are to choose from. I imagine we’ve got some people on the call who’ve been availing themselves of those collagen products. It never made a lot of sense to me because your body has to break it down into those amino acids and then rebuild it.

Then, like Daniel said, what waste are you left over with? And then again, you think about, okay, it’s collagen—that’s great. It’s bovine-sourced; That sounds okay. Without naming any names, I heard this recently: one of the first big companies to make a big splash about taking collagen, the source they were getting it from was literally leftovers from Campbell Soup.

It was the stuff that Campbell Soup didn’t want for making their chicken soup, beef soup, or whatever. It was those leftovers that were going into this high-end health food store collagen product.

[00:38:23] Why Whole Food-Based Collagen Support Beats Hydrolyzed Alternatives

Ian Farrar: There are other manufacturers that come out with this and that, and it’s the rage. People are on social media talking about it, but anything hydrolyzed—do you want to eat anything hydrolyzed? Chicken parts? Hydrolyzed horse hooves? I don’t want to be consuming that.

Some of these products out there are incredibly toxic for the body. I like everything as nature intended—whole food from plants, from fruits that your body is going to understand and receive well.

I don’t think anything hydrolyzed or hydrogenated is going to benefit the human body. With this product line, you can count on organic, you can count on clean, and your body is going to be receptive. Just don’t expect results overnight. This is something that is a lifestyle you commit to over a period of time. You don’t have to worry about anything negative in the product ingredients, Ryan.

[00:39:31] Purium’s Commitment to Sustainability and Ingredient Integrity

Ryan Sternagel: I also like to point out that when you held up those packages—it drove me crazy when I saw them at first because I hate that plastic. But then I realized it was compostable, which is the best. I would say it’s probably better than glass; It completely goes back into the earth. That was a long-winded way of me asking Daniel to elaborate.

You pay lip service to it, Daniel, but what I love about Purium is—especially as we’re formulating our first supplement and I’m getting an inside look into how supplements are made—you can go to a manufacturer and say, “I want this ingredient and that ingredient,” and they give it to you then that’s your supplement. That’s as far as most people go with making supplements, with making nutritional products.

Even if they’re organic, that’s great, but is this the best possible form of this food? That’s what I love about Purium: the attention to the nutrient-rich soil it’s grown in, harvesting at the right time—all that.

Can you go back over that a little bit, Daniel? That’s what sold me on this product line.

Daniel Bushnell: It all comes back to the mind and the values of the person behind things. Somebody once said there’s so much internet stuff today that you cannot tell what’s true and what’s not true. The only way to discern truth is to know the character of the person who created whatever it is that’s being advertised. Dave is a fanatic about this stuff. He loves the purity of this to the degree that I’ve often had many conversations with him on both sides of a wheatgrass barrel. He was unloading a bag of wheatgrass powder, and there was this green cloud. I could barely determine his features—that’s Dave; He’s so green.

[00:41:49] The Hidden Toxins in Collagen Products and Purium’s Clean Sourcing Standards

Daniel Bushnell: I wanted to add one thing, Ryan. You mentioned that the collagen market is so full of all these different animal parts, and the fact that, “We’ve got five types of collagen. No, we’ve got seven types. We’ve got 10 types.”

Since GNR came up with the first collagen, they’ve now discovered 28 types of collagen—and they’ll probably find more. All of those things are very toxic and very dirty.

I came across a study (I should have saved it. I’ll try to find it again and send it to you). They researched the top dozen or two dozen of the current successful collagen products on the market. They were so horribly toxic, filled with lead, mercury, and the worst stuff; Unbelievable pollution in these things. I’ll get that to you soon.

Ian Farrar: If I could add to that, Ryan, I’ve had the great opportunity to know Dave Sandoval—who’s the formulator and co-owner—as well as Amy Sandoval. They’ve had relationships with farmers in great areas of the United States that are free of any industrial pollution.

In your home state of Utah, we have relationships with farmers where several crops are cultivated. That’s important because you’ve got to know where your food’s coming from. There’s more and more stuff that’s on our food. I know that the Purium food (I’ll call it that) is a major source of where I get my nutrients on a daily basis.

Wherever I travel—I got an order today because, at the end of the month, I’m going to my home in Colombia. I trust the fruit and the food there more, but I still need to take my superfoods with me, if you know what I mean. It’s incredible purity when it comes to what the company has to offer.

[00:43:38] Simplifying the Collagen Support Options: Where to Start

Ryan Sternagel: Can we talk about specifics for people? We’ve been talking about collagen, the nutrients that help your body make it, and all that stuff. Then, you go on the Purium website, and there are a bunch of different variations of the collagen supply.

The baseline Collagen Support Pack is the Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails and the Dark Berry Protein; Those are the two fundamentals of what we’re talking about here. I want to avoid possible confusion when people go on because there’s the Signature Collagen Support Pack and the Platinum (I’m making stuff up here at this point). You’ve got four different iterations of the collagen packs.

Ian Farrar: There are some variations because we have an inner and outer skin-based system for people who want to get more comprehensive, like the Regen or the Bio Relax.

It would be a bigger pack of products, but specifically today, we are talking about these two. These two right here.

We do have more extensive offerings, but that’s up to everyone out there listening to this webinar. If you have any questions, we’re more than happy to answer them. Starting with these two, you’re off to the races. If people want to take a deeper dive and add more, you can do that too.

Ryan Sternagel: That’s what I’ve been saying about Purium lately—it’s hard to go on there and keep your finger off that “add to cart” button because everything looks so good.

Ian Farrar: Purium junkie.

[00:45:23] Purium’s Loyalty Rewards and Discounts Explained

Ryan Sternagel: I love discounts, and I love being able to offer these discounts on these webinars, but you guys have a lot of great loyalty points and stuff like that. I don’t find that at a lot of other places.

Ian Farrar: We do. I could explain that briefly. If you fall in love with Purium, you set up a Smart Order—because it’s smart. Say you fall in love with this Collagen Pack and want it every month, you’re going to be guaranteed to get 25% off every day.

You’re going to accumulate loyalty reward points, which you can redeem for $10, $20, $30 off as you accumulate the points.

If you buy a product consistently for three months in a row, you’re going to get a free product added to your vault and delivered to you on the fourth month, which is great.

Purium sends free products, guarantees 25% off, and you get to take $10, $20, $30, $40, $50, or more off your product purchases.

For me personally, I’m a Purium customer. I have 70,000 loyalty reward points that I’ve yet to redeem because I don’t know how to. But I’ve got to learn how to, because at Christmas time—since I give these products as gifts—I’m going to start redeeming them.

Ryan Sternagel: 70,000 points, that’s the goal. I’ve got to be you.

[00:46:49] Collagen’s Role in Healing, Aging, and Inner Health

Ryan Sternagel: Collagen is not something that you think about right away when it comes to healing and preventing chronic disease, but for the reasons we talked about throughout, it’s a big deal.

And then of course, general healthy aging—keeping those wrinkles away, keeping that skin nice and radiant and tight, and all that good stuff. There are great topical skin products out there that I love. After all the research we did going through a high-grade eczema issue with my son, I never thought I’d know that much about topical skin products, but I do. That’s all secondary to what Ian said, being healthy and strong on the inside and having that reflect on the outside.

Like Daniel said, collagen protein is the very first thing. Don’t buy the ground-up animal skin and bones. It’s like with everything—help your body produce the stuff it can already produce, but help it produce that better.

Ian Farrar: That’s right.

Ryan Sternagel: That’s all there is to it. Let’s get to some questions.

[00:48:15] Finding Balance in Diet: Individual Needs and Nutritional Testing

Ryan Sternagel: Daniel, this is going back to your frugivore comment. I knew that was going to spark some questions: “Is it possible that everyone responds differently to different diets? I ate strictly plant-based for a while and was losing a lot of hair and started getting very creepy skin. Once I started eating meat, fish, and bone again, my hair grew back, and my skin started looking youthful and plump again.” Curious about your thoughts on that.

Daniel Bushnell: I agree. Everyone is different. Our bodies are different. They have different needs and different requirements. If you’re like a carnivore type of metabolic chemistry, let’s say, even though we’re frugivores—ultimate divine design—different people have different genetics and bodies that use different foods. We adapt to different foods. I was raised on a farm—meat, milk, potatoes. It took me a long time to change that, but I had constant poison ivy, boils, eczema, psoriasis—everything—for my whole life until I realized I was allergic to dairy. I had to get rid of that.

The answer is yes—it depends on what your ultimate goal is. If you want to become a pure vegan and live like that for 150 years, that’s one approach. It requires a different level of discipline. If you just want to be healthy, maximize what you have, and enjoy your life—do that.

In addition to animal proteins, I know a lot of people don’t seem to be able to extract the proteins from the plant kingdom. It’s much easier for them to get it from animals by the nature of their biochemistry. Do that, but be sure that you’re countering the downsides of eating meat, such as acidity in the body and that sort of thing.

You want to be sure that you have a good window of fasting during the day. For example, my intermittent fasting starts at six or seven p.m., and I go 13 to 14 hours before eating again. That’s not true or valuable for everybody. Find something that works for you—create a regimen where your body can cleanse regularly. Mitigate the toxins from the meat, and start adding plant-based nutrients that you don’t get from the meat.

That would be my general answer to that without getting too specific.

Ryan Sternagel: I hear a lot of “yes, everyone’s different” and all that, but when it comes to people switching to an entirely plant-based diet, your body is used to a certain type of input. If you completely wipe that out and do a clean slate and say, “I’m a vegan,” I hear about people doing that successfully, but I also hear about a lot of people failing. Even if they’re not going 100% plant-based, just having a more plant-forward diet, they start feeling worse. That’s a big shock to your body. It’s a big transition. I think it’s better to ease off and start adjusting the ratio rather than going cold turkey, as it were, on day one.

Then, of course, there are different considerations; Are you drinking green smoothies all the time and getting tons of great nutrients? Or are you eating a lot of rice and things like that, which aren’t necessarily the most nutrient-rich but aren’t animal products either? It’s a good conversation.

Daniel Bushnell: It’s good to test your body regularly—especially when you’re changing your regimen. Test and see what happens; Have your blood chemistry checked, and have your hormones checked regularly and see what it’s doing to your body.

If your hormones are getting out of whack and your trace minerals are going way down, you want to start adding things back in so that, like Ian, you have an ongoing regimen that you’ve proven works for you.

You can make slight adjustments as you go, but you have a base that’s not going to cause any sort of nutrient depletion or excess toxicity on either side of that spectrum; You don’t want to go there.

Ideally, find someone who’s a good, open-minded, healthy doctor who can check you and doesn’t have an agenda—like “You must be eating this or you’re going to die.” I’ve had a bunch of them on both sides of the spectrum. Have things checked and adjust things as you go, and be sure you’re meeting your basics; That’s rule number one.

[00:53:10] Does Fiber Affect Collagen Formation? Clarifying the Role of Nutrients

Ryan Sternagel: “Does fiber interfere with collagen absorption?” This is from Gail—remember, we’re not absorbing collagen; we’re absorbing the nutrients that help our body make collagen. This might’ve been asked before we hammered that home. I wouldn’t see a problem with taking a little extra fiber along with any of these.

Daniel Bushnell: Not at all.

[00:53:36] Silica from Horsetail and Collagen Formation: Product Synergy and Support

Ryan Sternagel: “Can we take silica from horsetail, for example, to help the creation of collagen?” Horsetail—is it in this product?

Ian Farrar: It is. It’s in the Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails. The master formula is in the Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails, and the matrix foundation is in the Dark Berry Protein. It’s like a dynamic duo.

Ryan Sternagel: Amy, I love you for getting on these calls. Amy’s helping her eight-month-old baby with a brain tumor. I’m not going to ask Ian or Daniel to comment on what would be best for your eight-month-old baby with a brain tumor. I hope you’re going to be on our Going Integrative Plus call, Amy, in an hour.

For anybody interested, that’s where we get a cancer-specific doctor on a call once a week. People get to ask whatever they want to that cancer-specific doctor.

Amy’s one of our star Going Integrative Plus members because she’s doing everything she thinks she can to help her daughter. I love you for it, Amy.

[00:54:57] Expected Timeframe and Benefits of the Purium Collagen Pack

Ryan Sternagel: “Once we start the Purium pack, what’s the approximate timeframe when we should expect to see results? What sort of changes should we see?”

Ian Farrar: This is how I’ll answer that question. For someone on the standard American diet and they’re being introduced to what a phytonutrient-dense product grouping has to offer, they’ll probably experience an awakening quickly. They’ll feel vitality a lot quicker because they’re so devoid of getting nutrition.

From an aesthetic standpoint, it may take some time. In 30 or 60 days, you’ll probably see a dramatic difference in your skin. I’m not going to say you’re going to have more of a head of hair, but the consistency and body of your hair may change.

When you continue to put these nutrients in your body, they’re going to circulate through your system, and of course, it’s going to have that effect.

It’s been my experience that people will experience that glow probably in two weeks to 30 days.

[00:56:11] Hair Growth Tips: Consistency, Circulation, and Natural Practices

Ryan Sternagel: Ian, did you get Daniel’s hair growth? Did he give you all of his hair growth tips?

Ian Farrar: I talked to him last night about it. I’m like, “Dude, you’ve got to help me.”

Daniel Bushnell: The price point was a little too high for him, so he backed off.

Ian Farrar: I just wasn’t consistent in the past with Renew Hair, Skin, and Nails; I would take it here and there, but now I’m committed to taking it for a year. Believe it or not, I’ve been on it now for about three or four months consistently. Your nails all grow back quickly.

Ryan Sternagel: My nails were the first thing I noticed.

Ian Farrar: MSM and other things. I look forward every morning to getting on board with my regimen. When I travel, I do my best to make sure it’s complete.

Ryan Sternagel: Do the hair brushing. I got a nice, stimulating brush—that was from Daniel. I brush my hair a lot now. I hang upside down, that was another one.

Ian Farrar: Circulation.

Daniel Bushnell: Getting some sunlight on your scalp is helpful. We wear hats most of the time, but you can wear a visor to keep your face protected while leaving your hair exposed so that sunlight gets in. It helps nourish the roots—Your scalp is a garden. The above-ground part of it is here, but the roots of your garden, of course, are in your gut. You still want to have sunlight, and you don’t want to use pollutants. I don’t even wash my hair—I rinse it every day, I brush it 50 times a day, and it never gets dirty.

Ryan Sternagel: That’s another one I got from Daniel. I have not washed my hair in months, and it looks okay.

[00:58:15] Collagen’s Role in Health Beyond Aesthetics and Prostate Support with Purium

Ryan Sternagel: “I’m using Organix brand Clean Source Collagen—yikes. I ordered a year’s worth.” I like the Organix company—they make a great greens powder, they’ve got a good detoxification system, and they’ve got a few products that I like. I’m sure they’re not using Campbell’s leftovers, and I’m sure they’re getting a good grass-fed source or whatever. But all the same—it’s the rage; They made a product. I would love to see them change their ways and make a plant-based collagen support. Or they don’t need to—you can get the Purium plant-based support.

To hammer this home, Kent said: “Not worried about hair, skin, and nails. I’m fighting prostate cancer. What’s the best Purium product?”

Ryan Sternagel: I know what Ian’s going to say. To double underline that, Ken—it’s not about hair, skin, and nails, it’s about collagen. It’s about collagen, which is going back to your extracellular matrix and making sure that cancer cells don’t spread, and everything I talked about before. Having collagen in general is a big deal.

There is saw palmetto in the Hair, Skin, and Nails product, which is, of course, the number one thing people think of when it comes to prostate health. There’s also a more specific Purium product, isn’t there?

Ian Farrar: There is—it’s called Men’s Defense. It has pumpkin, saw palmetto, pygeum. It has a lot of those compounds that are going to help support a healthy prostate. I think Ryan will agree—diet modification is the foundation for a healthy system. Men’s Defense can also support healthy prostate health.

[01:00:23] Fermented Soy and Plant-Based Hyaluronic Acid for Joint Health

Ryan Sternagel: “Have you guys heard of eating fermented soy, like miso, so one’s body can produce more of its own hyaluronic acid to help with joint elasticity?”

Ian Farrar: We have a product called Regen. It’s a whole food that has that in it, and it adds to the collagen support pack. I take the Biorelax before I sleep, I take the Regen in the morning, and I take this. We’re trying to keep it simple. There are plant-based sources of hyaluronic acid.

[01:01:10] The Benefits of Cherry Juice: Sleep Support and Gout Relief

Ryan Sternagel: “Last time, I loved all the products including the cherry juice concentrate.” I love that.

Ian Farrar: Believe it or not, Ryan, the cherry juice is very high in anthocyanidins. Believe it or not, Dave has always spoken to me about the real benefits. The cherry juice, the aminos, the Renew for your skin and nails—that was it. But now we have the dark berry protein. We could be more comprehensive, but we’re trying to simplify things for people. Cherry juice has (I love this word) a plethora of benefits. The naturally occurring melatonin helps you get into a deep, restful sleep, which enables the renewal process. I could go on and on. Cherry juice is an awesome stuff.

Ryan Sternagel: Does that cherry juice concentrate work on gout?

Ian Farrar: It is the product for gout; It’s incredible. It breaks down those acid crystals that are very inflammatory. Drink the cherry juice. Of course, we suggest that you make adjustments to your lifestyle that help with gout, but the cherry juice is awesome for gout, yes.

[01:02:34] Introducing the Daily Core Four: Foundations for Nutrition and Detox

Ryan Sternagel: We’re talking about the cherry juice now. Another thing people see on the side is your main thing which is the Daily Core Four. It’s probably a good idea to talk about your basic setup as well there, Ian.

Ian Farrar: The Daily Core Four consists of the Power Shake, which is our super nutrient-dense green shake. I have a box right next to me. This is a five-serving sample of the Power Shake. This is going to give you the nutrient density of six microgreen salads. The next product would be the Super Amino 23, then the Biomedic, which helps the body clear glyphosate from the system and has a human clinical behind it, and the Apothe-Cherry, which we referenced.

That’s the foundation—that product grouping is offered in the Ultimate Lifestyle Transformation with the Collagen Support Pack, as well as the Daily Core Four by itself. The only difference between the two is that the Daily Core Four is what I explained. The Ultimate Lifestyle Transformation is two Daily Core Fours for people who want to go on a month-long cleanse regimen.

[01:03:50] Tart Cherry Juice and Super Xanthan for Sun Protection and Eye Health

Ryan Sternagel: “The tart cherry juice is an internal sunscreen—I proved it on myself. It’s supposed to prevent cataracts also.” I’m thinking about natural skin support, skin protection, and UV protective stuff but cherry doesn’t come to mind. Is there sun protection in the cherry Juice?

Ian Farrar: This would be the sun protection. Anything with anthocyanins that protects the cellular matrix of the dermis is important, but the Super Xanthan protects your body from UVA and UVB light. This right here is sun-blocking inside out. I’ve been taking this for 20 years. It also supports the macula in the eye. For people who have macular degeneration, this is important.

[01:04:51] Supporting Bone Health Naturally: Green Foods and Purium Products

Ryan Sternagel: Tatiana: “I need it for my bone; OP—is this helpful?” I’m not sure what that is asking. I’m not sure if Ian or Daniel knows, but Tatiana, let me know what that OP is about.”

Daniel Bushnell: Osteoporosis.

Ryan Sternagel: That makes a lot of sense. Any thoughts on osteoporosis from either of you?

Ian Farrar: Absolutely. Green foods are going to support the skeletal system. Dairy milk does quite the opposite; it pulls calcium from the bones, which weakens them. That idea was baked into our minds—that if you drink milk, you’re going to have healthy bones—which is actually the antithesis of a healthy skeletal system. The Standard American Diet, in my opinion, is very detrimental to the skeletal system. Green foods, which are very high in a full spectrum of nutrients, support healthy bones. We also have another product called Joint Flex, which supports reducing inflammation and overall skeletal health.

Daniel Bushnell: Green barley grass powder is notorious for depositing calcium into the bone tissues.

Ryan Sternagel: I’ve been loving the Purium barley juice product; It’s great.

[01:06:32] Tart Cherry Juice and Melatonin: Timing and Sleep Benefits

Ryan Sternagel: “I make my own jello with organic tart cherry juice and organic grass-fed gelatin. Does this mean it’s more helpful to eat in the evening rather than the morning for the melatonin benefits?” It’s good any time of day, but if you want the sleep support…

Ian Farrar: The thing is for the apothecary, which I want to share with the audience and for people that don’t know is that the Montmorency tart cherries are the only cherry species that have naturally occurring melatonin. Less is more; You don’t need a lot. The body doesn’t need a lot. If you buy store-bought melatonin, it will be seen as a foreign chemical; It won’t work the same way as the cherry juice. It doesn’t knock you out when you take the apothecary. It doesn’t make a difference what time of day you take it, but if you do consume it, you’ll have the proper melatonin levels, which will allow you to get into that deep, restful sleep.

[01:07:26] Choosing the Best Water for Greens: Purity, Minerals, and Structuring

Ryan Sternagel: “Do the greens get mixed with water? If so, which is the best water to use?” That’s a whole can of worms there, Delsie. Water has been on my mind. We’ve got another webinar coming up on structured water and getting a good water-structuring unit as part of your routine. What are you guys doing for water? What water are you drinking, or how does the water leave your source, and what happens to it before it enters your mouth?

Ian Farrar: If I could answer this question—I live in the state of Florida. We have bad water. I have been a big fan of having quality point-of-use systems attached to our sink, but I don’t even trust that anymore. I buy Mountain Valley in glass or from two miles down, where you’re getting the water from two miles below the surface. It’s in glass. That’s what I use in all of my preparation.

Daniel Bushnell: I used to do what Ian does. I’m very sensitive. I did a lot of different spring waters. Mountain Valley was a good one. My favorite was Castle Rock from Mount Shasta, which has great vibrations. Even that—I started noticing that when I would store water in different containers, over time it would leave a film, and I could feel the minerals there. It didn’t sit right.

I switched to glacial water, and that did the trick for me. That was so clean. It has so few minerals in it. It felt very pure and nourishing. I’ve been doing that for a while. I would like to get into researching the water from Antarctica. Antarctica is a very special place on the Earth. I haven’t researched enough to be able to do a talk on it for even 30 seconds, but it’s quite a magical place, and it has naturally occurring deuterium-depleted water. It’s got to be something special. I’m going to try some of the water from there, but it’s $20 or $30 for a liter. Maybe next month.

Ryan Sternagel: I’ve been getting into the spring water versus distilled debate. Then you get into organic minerals versus inorganic minerals, and you’re getting the inorganic minerals in the spring water, which are not as readily absorbed as organic minerals like humic and fulvic and so on.

I’m leaning towards distilled or RO and then adding my own humic, fulvic, et cetera, back into it afterward and structuring it. I think that’s the route I’m going.

[01:10:31] Exploring Purium Products for Skin Health and Vibrancy

Ryan Sternagel: “I’m very healthy and have had a health-promoting lifestyle for a long time. What I might expect from these products—my skin is getting a little crepey.”

Ian Farrar: There could be some things in these products that might be a game changer for you, but it’s up to you to try them and see how they work for you. Purium offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. It’s been my experience that very few people return the products because they’re that beneficial. Anything that has high vibration more often than not will translate to your appearance.

[01:11:25] Detox Support with the Vax Regret Pack: Fulvic, Zeolite, and Nutrients

Ryan Sternagel: Here’s another million-dollar question: “What’s good for eliminating COVID?” I assume we’re talking about the scary germ-type issues; Any way to get it out of the body? I know what Ian’s going to say— “I’ve got a product for that.”

Ian Farrar: Of course; I’ve got the toolbox. Not making any claims, not making any guarantees, but, Ryan, if you want me to speak to that, I can.

Ryan Sternagel: Go for it.

Ian Farrar: The company does not mention this anywhere, but this is my calling. It’s called the Vax Regret Pack, and it consists of our fulvic zeolite, chlorella, Biomedic, and our Zinc-Ade. Humic and fulvic acid are a great way of pulling things out of the body that shouldn’t be there. Our Biomedic has fulvic and humic as well as probiotics that help chelate. Then the fulvic zeolite, which is a tincture, is like the granddaddy for locking onto things that are foreign to the body and shouldn’t be there. It’d be the chlorella, the fulvic zeolite, the Biomedic, and the Zinc-Ade.

Ryan Sternagel: I see Pamela Miles in the chat.  We are going to have a webinar with Pamela Miles. I was wondering if that was the same Pamela. If so, hello. If not, good to have you on, other Pamela Miles. It’s the same one.

[01:13:10] Discussion on Sourcing and Packaging of Glacial Water

Ryan Sternagel: “Where do you go to buy glacial water? I don’t want to go to Antarctica.” Where are you getting that?

Ian Farrar: I want to go under Antarctica. I want to see what’s down there.

Daniel Bushnell: I personally have been going with the one from Iceland—Icelandic Glacial. I haven’t researched it. It used to be sold in glass; I don’t know if it is anymore, I have to do a little research. This has been a recent adventure for me.

[01:13:51] Immune Support Strategies and Product Recommendations

Ryan Sternagel: I thought you were going to talk about the virus, sure, but you went in a completely different direction. I didn’t even know about the Baxter pack.

Ian Farrar: I love VirusSure. VirusSure is a great way to call upon your body’s defenses to fight a virus, with red marine algae and olive leaf, along with a lot of those natural compounds that stimulate your immune system if you have a virus. But if you want to remove something that’s been put into your body to combat the virus, that’s another protocol.

Ryan Sternagel: Tammy was asking for more specifics about that. Like you said, I don’t think that’s on the website anywhere. That’s not a specific pack. Can you list those out?

Ian Farrar: Healthy Immune Support Pack is a pack of products to support your immune system.

Ryan Sternagel: But the products you were talking about before—list them off again, and I’ll type them into the chat.

Ian Farrar: Chlorella, fulvic zeolite, Biomedic, and Zinc-Ade. And there are a bunch of typos in there, but you’ll get the idea.

[01:15:32] Holistic and Natural Skin and Hair Care Routines

Ryan Sternagel: “What do you use on your skin?” Which “both” are you referring to, Yvonne? Do you use anything on your skin?

Ian Farrar: I do. I use an oil to condition my skin, especially after a shave. I don’t put any creams on my skin. Sometimes I use a little bit of coconut oil. I use this preparation that’s made for men, which my wife got me. It has all these organic botanical oils; That’s what I use. I don’t put on any hair gel or anything synthetic with propylparaben, propylene glycol, or any of those synthetic chemicals. I go natural.

Daniel, do you use anything?

Daniel Bushnell: I try not to use anything on my skin. For my hair, I rinse it, I stimulate it, and I give it light. I do what I can for it. Sometimes the sun is a little too intense, and instead of a hat, I use an oil mix that I’ve compounded myself, based on an old French remedy. It has almond oil and a few other things in it.

I started playing with essential oils that I added to that. I put a few drops of—sometimes helichrysum, sometimes frankincense, sometimes myrrh, or different ones. I play with it, but I’m aware that the health of my skin is the health of my gut and my whole body. I try to make that 80%, and 20% I leave for the topicals. I find that many people are so married to topicals that they forget about the internal. It’s the foundation of a program, doing that.

Ryan Sternagel: I happened upon this Tibetan formulation—I think I was looking for hair oil to regrow my hair. I found that they also had a skin cream. The hair oil didn’t do much, but I do like the skin cream. Now, of course, I can’t find it. I’ll try to find it before we leave. That’s only when I’m shaving or taking care of my face, which is only one or two days a week. This is the nice, clean Ryan on the webinars.

Most days, it’s scruffy, and hair is not done, that’s a different Ryan. But when I take a shower and shave, I use whatever carrier oils we have on hand, like jojoba. We get a bunch from—gosh, what’s that company called? I can’t think of the company we get our carrier oils or essential oils from right now.

We keep a few different carrier oils like jojoba on hand. When I’m shaving, I’ll use jojoba or something like that, and I’ll rub it on my whole face. Then I shave and put the Tibetan stuff on afterward. That happens once or twice a week. Other than that, it’s good, healthy living.

[01:19:28] Benefits and Uses of Barley Grass Juice

Ryan Sternagel: What is the barley grass product called that drives the calcium into the bones?

Ian Farrar: It’s called barley green juice. It comes in a pouch similar to this. It’s tart but highly beneficial. For the mamas out there who want to make stronger breast milk, it’s great for that too.

Ryan Sternagel: Is it gluten-free?

Ian Farrar: I think on the website it lists as gluten-free because if you’re getting the juice of the grass, it’s different than the grain aspect. Wheatgrass juice, barley green juice—it’s prior to that developmental stage in the plant. There could be certain parts per million of gluten, but if your gut is healthy, you may not have a reaction. If you are dealing with some type of gluten intolerance, there’s probably a depth of cleansing that you need to do in order to become free of gluten sensitivities. That’s my two cents.

Ryan Sternagel: “I met a guy who stated barley green saved his life from diabetes.” Interesting. I love barley. Back to the anti-cancer research for my son—I remember following Bill Henderson (God rest his soul), one of the original holistic cancer coaches, cancer podcast researchers out there. He was huge on barley. That was the barley grass juice. One of the staples in his protocol was barley juice.

Delsie, the essential oil company I use is Unify, but I get the carrier oils, the jojoba, and stuff like that, from a different company, Leven Rose. I get a bunch of super clean, organic, good products from them. Good company for stuff like jojoba oil. I like those guys.

[01:22:19] Duration of Use for Detox and Support Protocols

Ryan Sternagel: Tammy was asking—going back to the regret pack: “One round of each?” Would folks take one of each of those for a month or stay on it for a few months? I know it’s a broad question.

Ian Farrar: It is a broad question, and depending on your blood work and your goals, 30 days is not going to be it. I would stay on those products for a good period of time based on what the levels of heavy metal toxicity and stuff floating in one’s system are.

Ryan Sternagel: Let your conditions dictate that.

Ian Farrar: Yes.

[01:23:19] Avoiding Harmful Ingredients and Eczema Care Resources

Ryan Sternagel: Offhand, Gail, those look like ingredients I would not be incorporating on your skin.

Ian Farrar: No.

Ryan Sternagel: There’s no reason to put anything on your skin, or inside your body, that you can’t pronounce like liquid paraffin. Gail, I could give a dissertation on eczema stuff here, but that would take too long. If you didn’t see our eczema event, we’re working on getting that packaged up so people can see it afterward. If you go to our site, thesternmethod.com, and look at the “What We Use” tab, then scroll down to topicals, you can see some of our eczema-specific type stuff that we used for Rocky and his eczema.

[01:24:25] Gut Health and Gluten Sensitivity Solutions with Biomedic

Ryan Sternagel: “I know this webinar has been on your plant-based collagen builder, but back to the gut, what products do you have for gluten sensitivity?”

Ian Farrar: I have to step away to go get it. Give me a second.

Ryan Sternagel: I believe he’s going to talk about the Biomedic.

Ian Farrar: That is correct. This right here is called Biomedic. The root cause, more often than not, of gluten sensitivity is a chemical called glyphosate, which is embedded in most people’s bodies because it’s been sprayed on a lot of our food. This has a small human clinical trial showing it can reduce that chemical by 74% in six weeks and lower the inflammation marker in your body by 75% in the same time period.

This is not an overnight product. I’ve been taking this product for over six years. I’m someone who, if I ate any bread in the United States, I would get “pregnant.” This right here will help you rehabilitate a compromised microbiome and gut lining.

Ryan Sternagel: We did a whole webinar on it. That was the first one. It was a good one.

Ian Farrar: Gut health is really important.

Ryan Sternagel: That might be it. Thanks, everybody.

Daniel Bushnell: Thank you for hosting all this goodness every week in every area. Ryan, you are a rabid researcher, and that’s a beautiful thing to see. Thanks for all you do.

Ryan Sternagel: Right back at the two of you—you look younger every time I see you.

What else? We got so much good stuff there, Ian. I’m sure we can find another topic for another webinar.

Ian Farrar: I think so. I look forward to it. I gotta wait three months.

Ryan Sternagel: That’s right. That’s the bare minimum. Ian was bugging me to do a webinar the next month. I was like, “You gotta keep it… I don’t want the Stern Method to be associated with any one particular brand. We’re our own—”

Ian Farrar: Totally fooling around, man. It’s all good.

Ryan Sternagel: I was fooling around right back with you. It’s always fun and easy to do these webinars because you guys have so much good stuff. We’ll get it going again soon enough. Thanks, everybody, for being awesome and showing up.

Have a great day and a great week. We’ll see you next time. Bye, guys.

Ian Farrar: Bye.
