Ryan: Hey everybody, can everyone see and hear me? Let me know in the chat. That’d be awesome. It blows my mind thinking that we started posting stuff almost nine years ago now when Ryder was going through stage four cancer. We were trying to raise some money to afford all this stuff for him and help other parents with what we were going through. Now we’ve got people from Israel in the comments, which I don’t think will ever get old for me. Thank you for humoring me. Speaking of family, my wife’s aunt and uncle, along with a lot of her close family, are in Yardley, Pennsylvania. That’s where we were staying.

Let’s ramble for a couple of minutes. Relax was a really cool find for me. As I’ve said in the emails and social posts, we held our noses up at portable saunas for a long time. I didn’t think any of them could get up to… Well, it’s even hard for the wood saunas. That’s the big thing, most of them get up to 150 degrees, most, but when you look at the thermometer on the thing, even though it says it gets up to 150, a lot of times it’s only getting up to 140 or even less. Sometimes, the thermostat or the thermometer will say 150, but then you take an actual thermometer in there, and that’s not the case either.

If it’s hard enough to find a really good wood stand-up enclosed sauna, then everything I’d heard about portable saunas—and I’ve tested quite a few of them myself was about whether they produce a river of detoxifying sweat, raising your core body temperature, and aren’t blasting you with EMFs. That’s big for both wood saunas and portable saunas, but I hadn’t found any that I thought would do the job until I found Relax.

We’re doing these webinars once a week, everybody. We’re back on the once-a-week webinar train, and I’ll get that changed for next week. Phil, you’re one of the favorites now, so I’m sure you’ll be back on soon enough, and we’ll have Phil on split screen next time he’s on. Phil, how are you today?

Phil Wilson: I’m good. Can you hear me?

Ryan: I can hear you.

Phil Wilson: That’s great. I got a new computer, a new camera, and a new mic for you. I’m rearranging the room. You can see the sauna in the back, but the room is still a little bit of a mess, and I apologize for that. But that’s part of my creativity.

Ryan: Creative people are the messy ones, hopefully. I think you were a little surprised last time you came on at how many saunas were distributed as a result of this call. Did we break your record, Phil? Do I remember that correctly?

Phil Wilson: You certainly broke my seven-day record. Oh my God. I’ve been interviewed before, and you sold about six times more than my previous high.

[00:03:12] A Journey with Saunas: From ‘My Kid Cures Cancer’ to Discovering the Relax Sauna and Ozone Integration

Ryan: We’ve been talking about saunas for a long time. I was just talking about how much of a trip it is to think that it’s almost nine years ago now that Ryder was diagnosed. He’ll be 10 in May, and he was diagnosed 11 days before his first birthday. It’s not long after that we started posting stuff on Facebook; Here we are nine years later.

Our very first thing was an infrared sauna, and we were always posting pictures of me and Ryder in the sauna and all that. We’ve been known for that. Fun fact: our old brand name used to be “My Kid Cures Cancer.” That was our first website. Then, when we started getting bigger, and I lost the day job and went full-time, someone said, “You might not want to run around with the words ‘cures cancer’ in your brand name. That might not be a good idea.” But it used to be that when you searched “My Kid Cures Cancer” on Google, the first suggested search term was always “My Kid Cures Cancer sauna” because everyone knew we loved the sauna and wanted to know what kind we used.

We’ve been talking about saunas for a long time. I was rambling before you got on about how we were diehard wood sauna people for the longest time—I still love my wood sauna, don’t get me wrong—but it almost entirely passed me by at the conference we were at together because I had made up my mind that there was no good portable sauna out there. It looks like I never dug into Relax because when I did, it checked all the boxes for me.

We did the Relax Sauna webinar in the fall, and it was amazing. Since then, I’ve come to love it even more and have learned even more cool stuff about it. I think it was after we did your webinar in the fall that I did one right afterward with Promo Life Ozone. When I was digging around in Promo Life’s materials, I found out they made an ozone connector specifically for the Relax, so you can make your little DIY ozone sauna, which I wish we’d talked about last time, but I’m excited to talk about it this time. You spend a bunch of money on a wood sauna, and you still can’t make an ozone sauna—you really wouldn’t want to make an ozone sauna out of it because you can’t breathe the ozone.

[00:06:14] Phil Wilson’s Path to Saunas: From Math Genius to Health Innovator

Ryan: Phil, do you want to give everyone a quick intro of who you are, what got you into saunas, all that stuff, and then we’ll dive into all the wonderfulness that is Relax Sauna from there?

Phil Wilson: I think history and credibility are important factors when you decide whether or not you want to listen to someone. Usually, it’s really the energy field of a person; When I meet people, I instantly, or pretty soon, get to know them, feel their energy, and sense their purity and sincerity. Those are important factors in talking to anyone; we want to know whether to trust them or not. My history basically gives more credibility to me. I have a degree in mathematics, which qualifies me to be a good communicator about saunas. I spent five years in graduate school in mathematics. I was like a child prodigy in math; I was very into creativity and was published in national high school magazines for solving problems given to high school students.

What happened next is that I wasn’t into health foods at all; I did have to go to a health food store once when I was allergic to wheat, and I had to buy rice crackers at this sterile-looking health food store. That was my first introduction. I had allergies and asthma as a kid. I asked my mom once, “Should I say my health is poor?” She said, “No, it’s good.” But what happened is, being into creativity, I did have some trauma with a girlfriend back in 1970. I had a sort of an experience; I’ll call it an out-of-body experience, but it was more like going into the depth of who you are, going through a vortex, and connecting with something. What I came back with was the realization that I needed to get involved in music, art, and dance. I was too left-brained, too mathematical. That experience connected me with something, and I’ve always stayed connected with it. It’s like the saying, “Once you drink from that water, you never thirst again.” I’m a living example of that.

About a year and a half later, I met a Yogi who showed me some techniques, and suddenly I had an energetic body experience. It changed my body chemistry even more, though my body chemistry and diet were already changing slowly. There was a time when I couldn’t drink more than 2, 3, or 4 ounces of orange juice without getting a stomach ache, and I couldn’t do coffee anymore. All these changes were part of the purification that happens when you connect with the divine, although I was unaware of it at the time.

When I look back at the experience of realizing I needed to get involved in music, art, and dance, I remember seeing beings showing me an indoor handball court with people engaged in music, dance, and art. They were telling me that I needed to be more holistic and balanced.

Shortly after I had that second experience, my whole body chemistry changed. Three days later, I ate meat—I had a steak—and suddenly I felt comatose. It seemed like I had to sit still and meditate for about 8 hours before I felt good again. Four days later, I had some ham, and the same thing happened. That’s when I basically became a vegetarian. I was eating brown rice and grapefruit, not really knowing what to do. I started going to health food stores, where they recommended fasting.

At the time, I was a graduate student in mathematics, taking courses in Plato, philosophy, and even a modern dance class, along with courses in perception in the philosophy and psychology departments. My body chemistry was changing, and I got into fasting, I realized I needed to purify my body to be in touch with what I needed to do.

In 1973, I got into fasting all the time. The first books I read were the Arnold Ehret’s “Mucusless Diet Healing System” and “Rational Fasting” books. Then I heard about Paul Bragg and Dr. Christopher. Once you open that door, there’s so much information hidden from the public. To sum it up, I opened a health food store. I started selling herbal vitamins in 1973 part-time, and by 1976, after my jobs fell through, and I didn’t get my master’s degree in math, I began selling herbal vitamins full-time.

By 1980, I accidentally opened a health food store by starting to sell rebounders, inversion machines, massage tools, and Dr. Christopher’s herbal products. Before I knew it, I had a health food store, and I was selling massage tools. For 20 years, I made my living selling massage tools and other products to health food stores, and I had my own little store.

Then I went to a biological dentist show in Las Vegas, where I was selling massage tools. The next day, I attended a spa conference in Las Vegas—where I live now, coincidentally—and I saw one of my massage tool suppliers had a portable sauna there. I thought, “Oh my gosh, I can’t believe you can have a sauna in your home!” I’ve always loved saunas, but I never had the opportunity to use them regularly. I loved them as a kid; whenever I had a chance, I would use them. I even joined gyms three times just to use their saunas.

We got the sauna and started promoting it. I had all this information on my webpage—about 10, 15, 20 sheets of paper on the sauna and its benefits. I loved it, but it didn’t get hot enough, so I had to take the chair out. I got in, and sat on the floor, and it would take 18 minutes to start sweating and 55 minutes to get what I considered a good sweat. Basically, we sold about six of those in the first year.

Then I got a phone call from Taiwan—it was the Relax Sauna company. They said, “We saw you’re very prolific on your website, and we thought you might be interested in the Relax Sauna because the technology is more advanced.” I asked how, and they explained that it took ten years, from 1987 to 1997, to find a way to filter out the near-infrared, mid-infrared, and far-infrared energies that didn’t resonate or impact your water molecules. They only provide energy between 4 and 14 microns, which I call the “loving light.” According to Dr. Sherry Rogers in her book Detoxify or Die, the wavelengths between 4 and 14 microns have the most valuable energies to the human body.

I told them to send me one, and I paid for it. They sent it two days later; It came from Taiwan via FedEx, next day or second-day air. The difference was phenomenal. Everyone said this one worked so much better, it felt better, etc.

That’s my introduction. Now, I’ll let you ask questions and go on. I hope that wasn’t too long-winded or too much history and information.

I opened up a health food store, and for 20 years, my business was selling to 1,100 different health food stores—cutting-edge herbal products. We were one of the first to sell powdered barley juice, powdered wheatgrass juice, medicinal mushrooms, spirulina, chlorella, and essential oils. We were trendsetters in the health food distribution industry, selling to health food stores.

We were the first distributor to sell essential oils to stores. Back then, no one knew about essential oils; only three books had been written on the topic. The barley grass and green drinks are everywhere now, but somehow, I’m always on the cutting edge and tuning in; this is my forte. This is what I love to do. It was the same when I was creatively solving math problems. It’s funny; I would travel, find a nut bar, and bring it back to a store in Columbus, Ohio, telling them to order it. All of a sudden, I ended up making a living for 20 years selling those products to stores—products that weren’t in 95% of the stores. We were selling cutting-edge products like oxygen products, chlorine dioxide, magnesium peroxide, and Homozon—all those products back in ‘88 to stores.

We were selling magnets and color therapy glasses. People used to joke about us; “Awareness and Health” was the name of our store but they called it “weirdness and wealth” or something like that because we were known for having unique products. If a store wanted something they couldn’t find, they would call us, and more than likely, we would have it.

Ryan: All the stuff I was getting into eight or nine years ago after my son was diagnosed, you were on top of it around the time I was born.

Phil Wilson: I was. Sometimes that’s your lot in life—that’s what you choose to do, or that’s what you fall into when you follow your heart. That’s the key: tuning in and being honest with yourself. That’s the hardest thing in the world to do—to be honest with yourself. It’s harder not to be honest.

Ryan: I love it. Here we thought we were going to talk about saunas, but we’re talking about energy fields, spirit guides, music, art, dance, and all sorts of fun stuff. Very cool, Phil. You’ve had a really interesting career in health, for sure.

Phil Wilson: I’ve had fun too.

Ryan: That’s the key—you’ve got to have fun. It is fun to do what you want or what you love for a living. It’s never too late to start, everybody.

[00:18:10] Detoxification and Core Body Temperature: The Science Behind Infrared Saunas

Ryan: I was trying to figure out where to start with this. The big thing for me… You touched on the light aspect: The near-infrared, mid-infrared, and far-infrared. I think that’s a good place to kick off after I say a couple of things here. For me, I almost feel like, to an extent, “What type of light is it? I know you’re going to correct me on this. The big boxes for me to check are: does it get super hot? Does it produce a river, as I like to call it, of detoxifying sweat? They’ve done studies on this where they take exercise sweat from someone who worked up a good sweat on a treadmill or something, and then they’ll take sweat from someone sitting in the sauna. The sauna sweat has more toxicants in it—more heavy metals, more chemicals, microplastics, all these things. Sauna sweat has more toxic stuff excreted from your body than even exercise sweat. I don’t know how—probably because of the resonance with the water molecules, like you mentioned. That’s one aspect.

[00:19:49] Infrared Spectrum Debate: Near, Mid, and Far-Infrared Benefits in Saunas

Ryan: Backing up a second, I feel like the whole conversation about near-infrared and its benefits, mid-infrared and its benefits, and far-infrared and its benefits brings up a lot of questions now; Questions like, “What’s better, near-infrared or far-infrared?” and stuff like that. To an extent, it almost takes away the key things you’re looking for in a sauna: Does it get super hot? Does it raise your core body temperature? Because it’s not just about detoxification, it’s also about hyperthermia—it’s stimulating the immune system, giving your healthy cells a workout, cancer cells can’t stand up to the heat as well as healthy cells can. What’s the term? Hormesis—it’s a healthy stress on your good cells that makes them more resilient. Your cancer cells have a hard time with it and are more vulnerable to stress after being exposed to heat like that. It’s all these things.

When we talk about a sauna having near-infrared in it, it’s like, “Therefore it’s better.” But does it raise core body temperature or not? You know what I mean? That’s the conversation a lot of these units are avoiding altogether. They’re focusing on the fact that they have near-infrared and mid-infrared, so, therefore, theirs is better. I want you to expand on that. I want you to elaborate on what you said about far-infrared. For me, we try to cover all the bases. There are benefits to near-infrared and mid-infrared light, which is why we have a big red light therapy LED panel. You’re going to get a zillion times more benefits from 15 minutes on that red light panel—benefits that near and mid-infrared offer times a hundred or a thousand, I don’t know, but a lot more than whatever you’re going to find in a sauna, but let the sauna do the detoxification and hyperthermia. These are the things you want the sauna for.

Could you elaborate a bit on the specific wavelength aspect? Because I think that’s important. Whenever we talk about saunas now, we get a zillion questions about that. I keep telling people it’s a nuanced answer but come to the webinar because we’ll get into it. I think that’s a good place to start. Then we can back up to some of the more basic benefits of the sauna.

[00:22:54] Understanding Far-Infrared Energy: Resonance, Circulation, and Hyperthermia

Phil Wilson: Yes, I love that you’ve got a good understanding of the purpose of saunas, which most people don’t. The purpose of the far infrared sauna is to raise body temperature. I like to say that Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, has a famous quote: “Find me a way to create fever and sweat, and I will cure disease.” Using the phrase “Find me a way to create fever and sweat, and I will cure disease” that’s like the secret behind why we have far infrared saunas.

There’s a book called “Our Toxic World” by Doris Rapp. There are many books on the toxicity of the world, and it’s becoming a known fact that the world is toxic. Way back in the 1960s and 1970s, when they started researching far infrared saunas, the advent of these saunas in our lives became a solution to the world becoming more toxic. We didn’t need far infrared saunas in the 1920s or the 1840s because regular saunas would do the job. But now, as Dr. Sherry Rogers said in her book Detoxify or Die, far infrared saunas are the superior saunas—they do a lot more than the Finnish saunas.

I like to say that a prairie dog is not a dog, so a far infrared sauna in reality is really not a sauna any more than a seahorse is a horse. In Australia, if you call a koala bear a bear, they get very offended. However, I think being offended is something you want to move out of your vibration rate. Nothing should really offend us. If we’re truly wise and connected, we see exactly where everything lies, and we’re not offended because we know who we are, and we know we’re connected.

At any rate, I’m going to answer all your questions. I have a degree in logic. I took two full years of logic, and I was the best student in the class by far. I’m really good at that; it’s part of something I was born with.

When a company talks about how much near-infrared they have, I’m going to make great of what you said and explain it in detail because you hit all the good points and you explained it quite well.

[00:26:07] Comparing Sauna Technologies: Why Relax Sauna Stands Out

Phil Wilson: Near-infrared lasers and red light, which are usually at 660 nanometers and 880 nanometers for the near-infrared, are incredible devices. They can get rid of pain and have many other benefits. We go to hyperbaric oxygen conferences, ozone conferences, and laser conferences. All these centers have various dynamics in place; They have PMF machines, but the far infrared sauna stands out alone as the only product related to hyperthermia because it increases body temperature. Once we understand that we vibrate at 9.4 microns, that we are far infrared light beings, and that the water molecule is a far infrared molecule that absorbs and radiates far infrared energy; When we hug someone, we can feel their far infrared energy. When a chicken lies on an egg, the far infrared energy from the sun resonates with the water molecules inside the egg. The sunlight goes through the sand, and the far infrared energy resonates with the water in turtle eggs, activating the turtle embryo to grow into a turtle. It’s a specific frequency that we are in tune with. If we resonate at 9.4 microns and water resonates at 8 microns when the energy between 4 and 14 microns is directed at us, we don’t resist it; we absorb it. This causes the water molecules inside our body to resonate.

The water molecule is made up of two hydrogens and oxygen, with an angle between the oxygen as the vertex and the two hydrogens. Although this is how we describe it in time and space, there really is no time and space, but anyway, the vibration of this angle gets smaller, so the blood cells get smaller, and the water in the blood vessels dilates, which tremendously increases circulation simply by causing the water molecules to resonate.

If all the water molecules in your body are shaking, and you are in a small room with 100 people dancing, it’s going to get hot. If all the water molecules in your body are shaking, vibrating, and spinning, this changes the voltage on the water molecules, which a physicist told me causes your body temperature to rise.

When this happens, you might know nothing about saunas and you wonder, “What’s the benefit of raising body temperature?” There’s a hospital in Germany, St. George Hospital (not to be confused with St. George, Utah), that focuses on hyperthermia. They raise the body temperature—I’m not sure if it’s 105 or 106 degrees, which kills all the spirochetes, Lyme spirochetes, cancer cells, parasites, and everything else. They have sophisticated machinery to ensure the temperature doesn’t reach 107 or 108 degrees, as that would be fatal to the human body. It’s a very sophisticated hyperthermia system.

What we do with the Relax Sauna, or any infrared sauna to a lesser degree (because they can’t quite raise the core temperature as high as the Relax Sauna can), is similar. The temperature reaches high levels, and many people have reported results. Dr. Paul Anderson, who helped catalyze your son’s healing from cancer, uses it in his cancer clinic while performing IV therapy. They can increase the body temperature by 4.2 degrees, according to the person in charge of that department. Most people report that the Relax Sauna can increase body temperature by 3.2 degrees or 3 degrees in 20 to 25 minutes.

[00:31:12] Real-Life Testimonials: How Relax Sauna Supports Healing and Detoxification

Phil Wilson: There’s a study on Reddit.com, posted by someone named Spaceman Bill, in a Relax Sauna review and cold shower treatment. He was excited by the research on infrared saunas and decided to test an inexpensive $250 sauna he bought on Amazon. He found that it only increased body temperature by half a degree in 25 minutes, despite testing it every minute, monitoring the temperature inside the sauna, and performing heart rate variability tests and other biometrics. It failed to meet the expectations set by the research on saunas.

He was a little bit frustrated, so he bought a $500 sauna, which was highly reputed on Amazon as one of the best. He got the same results. Then, in a quandary, he looked at another sauna and decided to try the Relax Sauna. He was so impressed, especially when he wrote about the biometrics. Not only did the Relax Sauna increase his body temperature by 2.9 or 2.8 degrees in 20 to 25 minutes, but the heart rate variability test and the biometrics greatly exceeded what the research on saunas said they would do because the research on saunas available online is usually based on saunas with a 2 to 25-micron range. According to what we’ve discovered, it took Relax Sauna, as I said, 10 years—from 1987 to 1997—to find a way to use semiconductor chip technology. We’re the only computer technology sauna out there, and we filter out… According to Planck’s law, this can’t be done and according to Newtonian physics, what Einstein did couldn’t be done. We’re expanding the range of what’s possible. They found a way to filter the energies coming from an electric current to provide energy only between 4 and 14 microns.

When a sauna says, “Oh, we have near-infrared, we have mid-infrared, we have full-spectrum infrared,” that’s an admission that they cannot provide full far-infrared rays and don’t have the technology to do so; It’s a negative. What we focus on with the Relax Sauna is not the negatives like volatile gases, and a lot of saunas seem to point that out. It’s funny because there’s a Dr. Billika in Fort Collins, Colorado, who had another $1,100 sauna along with our sauna. He’d been selling the Relax Sauna for a long time, but his staff seemed to think the other sauna was just as good. However, he didn’t like it as much because it got heated more quickly and felt better. Then he tested it for EMF levels and found out that ours was clean, while the other one was not, even though their whole advertising focused on how clean they were EMF-wise.

This is the far-infrared sauna. We generate negative ions in it, but we don’t even advertise that because we want to focus on what far-infrared healing light or loving light does, and that’s what’s important. We don’t focus on the bells and whistles.

I remember we were selling a wild ginseng extract that I wouldn’t use at first because I was a purist, and it had a tiny bit of red sugar coating. Eventually, I started using it and really liked it a lot because it was so potent, superior to any other product, but that 1 gram of negativity I had about it was overshadowed by its benefits. The main thing is to offer pure, loving light.

When people go into the Relax Sauna, I call it the “spiritual sauna” because it activates the parasympathetic nervous system. If you provide 98% pure far infrared-loving light, it’s all going to resonate with your body. It’s all going to be absorbed, and it’s all going to have an impact on your body, unlike the 30% to 50% output that’s typical of other saunas. They seem to have only about 30% or 50% of their energy output as far infrared-loving light between 4 and 14 microns.

This might sound like a preposterous statement, and I’m not even sure if I can fully back it up, although we have some research indicating that the way to test the effectiveness of a sauna… there seems to be a correlation between the amount of far infrared light it produces between 4 and 14 microns, the more you can raise your body temperature. Raising body temperature, it’s the fever that’s created that provides the therapeutic effect.

I’ll let you talk now because I didn’t cover everything you asked, and I want to make sure we come back to it. Sometimes, when I talk, I switch topics and drop a subject like that, moving on to another one, and people are left thinking, “Oh my God, he didn’t answer.” Then, 20 minutes later, I came back around and answered it. It’s not intentional, it’s just the way I am. Bear with me. My math students at Ohio State University used to hate that, but the tuned-in students understood what was going on, were patient, and listened. But do ask questions.

Ryan: I don’t know if that means you’ve perfectly balanced your left and right brain, or if they’re both off doing their own thing. That was the big thing I wanted to address. I think you answered it, but let me know in the comments if Phil answered it or not.

That’s the big issue, this debate over what kind of light is best. It used to be that everyone knew you needed a far infrared sauna. But now, God bless marketers, they have to come up with something different that makes theirs unique or gives them different talking points, and it’s turned into a whole big mess. Even eight or nine years ago, when Ryder was first diagnosed, I went on the internet, watched documentaries, and tried to figure out what to eat for cancer; It was pretty clear you needed to eat lots of plants, and juice, and take in lots of healing nutrients, but now it’s, “Oh no, you need steaks every night. You need a big T-bone steak.” It’s crazy. I’m glad you touched on that. Please, don’t buy a cheap Amazon sauna, everybody.

When I was clicking around for this a couple of days ago, brushing up on everything and seeing what’s out there, speaking of sauna companies that advertise low EMF and then turn out not to be as low as they claim, I stumbled on a review video. I think it was just the next video on YouTube that started playing. It was this guy reviewing two different saunas. One of them was the one he was recommending, but he pointed out, “Look at this cheap one—it’s giving off a ton of EMF. Now, look at this one I’m recommending, it’s not giving off as much EMF, but it’s still pretty notable on the meter.” I was like, come on, that’s not low, it’s just lower than the other one.

Going back to the basics and checking the boxes is important. I’m glad you brought up Dr. Anderson because that’s how you caught my attention at the conferences. I passed the booth by a bunch of times, but then I saw that Dr. Anderson was featured in the literature. For anyone who doesn’t know, Dr. Paul Anderson was my son’s naturopathic oncologist. It turned out that we stumbled onto the greatest naturopathic oncologist of all time. He’s teaching all the naturopathic grad students, or at least his materials are being used by students at naturopathic colleges everywhere to pass their exams. Even well-established doctors are learning from him. Now, he’s got these conferences for physicians, but he let me sneak in, and that’s where I met Phil.

I was curious, what’s Dr. Anderson doing using this thing in his clinics? Surely there’s got to be something better. I pulled him aside and asked him about it, and he said, “It raises core body temperature more than anything we’ve found, and that’s why we use it.” That’s when I promptly made my way back to Phil’s booth and started taking him a little more seriously. And here we are today.

I’ll note something on the loving light and the Joy thing; Phil also talked me into sitting in the sauna at the time, which I initially rolled my eyes at because I’ve been in many saunas and thought I knew what it felt like, but I did it, and I felt the difference—I felt the loving light joy difference.

We’ve been talking about saunas a lot, and there’s a lot of discussion out there about the health benefits of saunas. I think many of those benefits have been covered, but I do want to touch on the basics for everyone wondering.

We’ve talked a lot about detoxification. We have our Going Integrative Plus membership calls where we get a top doctor who specializes in cancer once a week. It’s basically a free-for-all, two-hour Q&A, and everyone in the Going Integrative Plus community can ask whatever they want. It’s really cool. If anyone on the call is interested, send us an email at [email protected] for more information about Going Integrative Plus, or go to goingintegrativeplus.com and you can join the community there.

[00:43:08] The Power of Infrared Saunas: Detoxification, Cardiovascular Health, and Immune System Boosting

Ryan: Inevitably, someone will ask about detoxification on pretty much every call, and nearly every doctor mentions infrared saunas. That’s the one thing that pretty much everyone says is essential because it’s the most systemic approach. We do talk about different herbs, supplements, castor oil packs, and all sorts of stuff, but the infrared sauna is key.

You want to be supporting your detox organs by taking a liver tincture, drinking a liver cleansing tea, and things like that. You do want to be doing other things for detoxification, but when you think about it, when sweat is coming out of every centimeter of your body, you know that it’s effective. As I mentioned earlier, there are studies showing that sauna sweat has more toxicants in it than even exercise sweat. It’s the best way to systemically pull toxicants out of your body. I don’t know if it’s more of a pull or a push, maybe a little bit of both, but you’re releasing toxicants from head to toe. There’s not much else that does that.

Cardiovascular improvement is another really big benefit. When you go to PubMed and start digging around on the benefits of saunas, you’ll find a lot of this information. Phil mentions Finnish saunas and a lot of the research is done in Finnish saunas. They’re the ones that get up to 170 or 180 degrees, or even higher. That high temperature is significant. The Relax Sauna does get hot, and I will cover ozone because that’s been asked about a few times, but the high temperature in and of itself is well-documented in the literature for cardiovascular benefits—both for the heart and blood flow.

I was at a conference, which was more of an online, general people-type conference rather than a health-specific one, but they had a doctor presenting there. That doctor randomly brought up saunas and made a point about it several times. He joked about exercise and how important it is, but then he said something to the effect of, “Getting in the sauna for 20 minutes three times a week is basically the equivalent of running three times a week for 20 minutes. You’re basically getting the exact same benefit, but you’re just hanging out, chilling in the sauna instead of running.” You should run, there are added benefits to running, and it feels good once you get into it. It’s huge for cardio health.

As for the immune system, we’ve talked about that. Phil mentioned that famous quote, was it from Hippocrates, Phil? “Give me the power to create a fever, and I’ll…” I don’t want to use the “C” word, but it sure helps with any disease.

Phil Wilson: I like to say that if Hippocrates had said that on American soil, they’d shackle him and put him in jail. You’re not allowed to cure anything in the United States, except for beef.

Ryan: But it makes sense. That’s what your body does when it knows it needs to kill some bad guys and that sort of thing. If you can recreate that on your own, it ramps everything up. It’s not just damaging cancer cells, bacteria, parasites, viruses, and so on, but it also makes your immune system think there’s a fever, which sends it into overdrive. Your immune system ramps up.

Weight loss is another benefit. There’s a ton of research on weight loss, and I think it’s probably a function of both the cardio effect combined with detoxification. When you’re super toxic, your body stores fat. When you’re sweating out those toxins, your body no longer needs to store them in fat, so it becomes easier to lose weight. One reason people might have a hard time losing weight is because they have a lot of toxic material, and their body uses fat to store it, preventing it from reaching the organs. Once you dump that toxic load, your body doesn’t need the fat anymore.

Anti-inflammatory benefits are another major area, and again, this ties into the research.

Phil Wilson: It’s the fever and the increase in body temperature. When I was a kid, I’d wake up on the third day of a flu or cold, totally sweating in bed, completely soaked but feeling great. When the fever breaks, miracles happen. The fever is what increases detoxification; It mobilizes the lymphatic system. I took a couple of classes or seminars on rebounding and how that helped the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system has a one-way valve, and the mobilization of lymphocytes, whether they come out of hibernation or are born, leads to detoxification. They eat up all the junk, and when cancer cells die or when any cell dies, all the waste material gets eaten up. This is mobilized when you have a fever, and that’s usually when you’re not in tune with the universe or disobeying its laws by not treating your body properly, like by eating too much (which I’m good at) or consuming foods that aren’t really foods (which I’m pretty good at avoiding), your body responds. I was a real purist for 5, 10, 15, or 20 years, but then I had to start doing things I was against because being against something was causing problems in my awareness. I realized it was more important not to be afraid of doing what I was against, seeing it for what it was, and not judging it as bad or good. I did all those things in my teens; Eating junk food, sugar, and drinking coffee which I can’t do now, but I started doing it again, paid the consequences, noticed the effects, and slowly stopped caring.

Thankfully, I’m now getting back into needing to follow a pure diet because I feel so much better when I do. As a matter of fact, I’ve had nothing but water for the last two and a half days—that happened accidentally.

[00:50:59] Understanding Far-Infrared Light: The Science Behind Relax Sauna’s Unique Benefits

Phil Wilson: I wanted to answer some questions. Number one, most people don’t understand a little bit about far-infrared light. I don’t understand why they don’t teach it in seventh or eighth-grade science. Here’s a two-minute course on far infrared energy.

Far infrared energy is invisible and ranges between 4 and 1000 microns, but only the 4 to 14 micron range resonates with the human body. Far infrared light is still light, so it travels at 186,000 miles per second. Even though it’s invisible, it can still be reflected by a mirror, which is hard to grasp—if it’s invisible, how can it be reflected by a mirror? I don’t know, but I do know that when I go into the sauna, I can feel it coming from my back and penetrating very deeply. The moon reflects sunlight, and silver acts as a mirror. You can see your reflection on a metallic navy car or a metallic burgundy car because it acts like a mirror. But inside the sauna, it’s blue—how does far infrared go through clothes? I know it’s true because I’ve gotten into the sauna, closed my eyes, and felt the deep, penetrating warmth in the core of my being, and it feels amazing. It has to go through clothes.

When you go into the sauna with your clothes on, we’ve put 100,000 people in the Relax Sauna with clothes on for five to ten minutes. I’d say about 20% of these people have experienced minor or major miracles. That’s what’s so wonderful about the Relax Sauna. No other sauna heats up as quickly as this one. It heats up in 30 seconds, not 30 minutes or 20 minutes, but 20 to 30 seconds to one minute. You feel toasty like your grandma is giving you a loving hug. That warmth and that basking in divine love kind of feeling is the effect of activating the parasympathetic nervous system and getting you into the present moment.

The more far infrared energy you have between 4 and 14 microns, which resonates with the cells in our body and the water molecules in your body, the more your body temperature will increase. When I get into the sauna, I feel what I call a “truth serum” a gentle pressure nudging me into the present moment. When you’re in the present moment, all that caffeine-like nervous energy is gone, and you feel good. Then, miracles can happen; physically, emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually. We have a dozen different videos on RelaxSaunas.com/YouTube where people share stories of their hearts opening up in just one or two minutes. We have a lot of testimonials about non-physical benefits; getting rid of depression, anxiety, chills, or even a full-blown asthma attack. If you go into the Relax Sauna, in two, three, or four minutes, you feel the difference. In a society that is ethical and transparent, the Relax Sauna should be in every emergency room in every hospital in the United States. It’s frustrating that it isn’t, but there’s a lot of red tape, a lot of interests, and agendas to navigate.

When I first got into the health food industry, it was like a cat-and-mouse game. You couldn’t make any claims, and that’s true—you really shouldn’t make any claims because everyone’s experiences are different. I can only say that from my experience, this will do that. That is a good thing but at the same time, you have to see that the system is strange. If you believe in alternative medicine, you’re like an outcast, as in the Jonathan Livingston Seagull book. I came into the holistic health community as an outcast, where alternative medicine is frowned upon. Doctors are taught in medical school to laugh at it.

However, there’s that transformational moment where people, after exhausting all options with conventional medicine and hitting a dead end, finally turn to alternatives. Then, they discover a treasure trove of information that has been hidden. Even in the world of promoting saunas, there’s a lot that people don’t know.

The temperature in the Relax Sauna can reach 130, 140, and 145 degrees very quickly. It can get up to 169 degrees. After 22 minutes, I’m usually too hot, and I either have to be meditating really well to handle it, or I have to move my head to manage the heat. I finally realized it’s not the heat itself; it’s the light resonating with you. When you unzip the zipper, you let all the heat out, and if you’re too hot, you can cool down. If you’re comfortable, you can sustain it, and that’s what you want—to be able to stay in.

I spoke to a trainer, Bob Bateson, in Buffalo, New York, who uses the Relax Sauna in his detox protocol for the professional athletes he works with. He says that when they do stem cell therapy and PRP, they usually recommend heat pads, but the Relax Sauna in 15 minutes can do far more than a heat pad can do in an hour.

What people don’t realize and what other sauna companies don’t realize is that the Relax Sauna energy is not your standard far infrared energy, It’s generated or filtered through semiconductor chips, and we give you only the pure far infrared light. Therefore, it’s far more effective than any other sauna. That’s what Rebecca Harder experienced after selling wooden saunas for 10 years and initially turning her nose up at us, just like you did when we met. People can’t seem to grasp that this is a different kind of animal. It’s totally different, and we don’t really know how to sell it because it’s an energy medicine device. It’s invisible, it hits the wall and bounces back. If it’s moving at the speed of light, and the radiator is at 180 degrees right here, since there’s no absolute zero or absolute 180 degrees, it’s got to be 179.9 degrees, so it’s going to ricochet and bounce like a billiard ball because it’s moving at 180,000 miles a second. People say, “How can it bounce if it’s going straight?” But if it were moving at 2 miles an hour, it would take an hour or two, or whatever, to bounce. These are the principles they don’t teach in 8th grade; It’s light; it goes through clothes. You can’t have exactly 180 degrees, but it’s very therapeutic.

I want to answer all the questions. Someone said, “Please answer the question.”

Ryan: I saw that. Let’s get to questions in a second. I’m glad, Phil, that you brought up the emotional wellness aspect because that’s the last thing I was going to bring up—stress relief in general. It’s not as black and white as detoxification or anti-inflammatory effects, but getting into a parasympathetic state versus a sympathetic state as often as you can is probably one of the most important things you can do for healing in general. It’s pretty much impossible not to relax in the Relax Sauna, and I guess that’s why they call it the Relax Sauna.

Phil Wilson: It took me a while, but I was at a conference, and I asked one lady how she felt after her 5 or 10 minutes in the sauna. She said, “Relaxed.” I asked the next lady, “How do you feel?” She said, “Relaxed.” Then a third lady, “How do you feel?” “Relaxed.” And I said, “Oh my God, that’s why they call it the Relax Sauna!”

[01:00:34] Shipping and International Availability of Relax Sauna Models

Ryan: Let’s get to some questions. Phil, do you want to talk about the particulars for a second? There are a couple of different models. Do you do international shipping? All that fun stuff.

Phil Wilson: We ship to Canada. We can ship to France, Spain, England, Israel, Africa, Australia, South America, Canada, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. There are a couple of countries in Asia we can’t ship to, and we can’t ship to Germany, Russia, or Poland.

Ryan: How about Dubai?

Phil Wilson: We can ship to Dubai.

Ryan: There you go.

Phil Wilson: The shipping is expensive because it ships directly from Taiwan. It comes with the appropriate plug and the 220 voltage if that’s what your country uses. You could use the United States sauna with a converter, and some people are very pleased with that. However, it’s better if you can get the one specifically designed for your country.

[01:01:49] Choosing Between Relax Sauna Models: Silver vs. Black and Ozone Sauna Capabilities

Ryan: And what about the different models? There’s the silver one, and the black one, which is a little more expensive; I think it’s a bit better insulated or something like that. I have a silver one. I was joking that in the winter, it’s still winter; We had it in our bedroom at first. We’ve finally finished our awesome healing room, so we moved it up to the healing room. Our bedroom is an icebox. Still got nice and toasty in the silver one. No concerns with it at all. I think last time, about 90% of people got the silver one, and everyone’s been really happy with it.

Phil Wilson: The black one has an embroidered logo. It looks fancy, so if you have a lot of money and you like the way it looks, go for it. Otherwise, the silver one uses the same radiator, so it’s the same technology. The black one does reflect a little bit better, but for people for whom money is an issue, I’d say you’re not sacrificing your health by getting the silver one.

Ryan: There you go. But if you’ve got some nice black decor and want to match that, then go for the black one.

Phil Wilson: It’s like buying a Monet—it costs a lot more than a normal painting. I don’t know why.

Ryan: There were a lot of questions about ozone because I mentioned that at the beginning, and we did a couple of emails and social posts about it. I found out that you can make an ozone sauna out of the Relax Sauna, which is pretty cool when you talk about the difference between getting a wood one and all the reasons why the Relax Sauna is awesome. I love mine. I think I saw that question too—I still use the wood one as well. I mix it up between the two.

Phil Wilson: You misspelled Relax Saunas.

Ryan: That’s a problem. I should have typed it into the browser.

Phil Wilson: It’s spelled the way it’s supposed to be: RelaxSaunas.com.

Ryan: One time, I typed it directly into the chat and, of course, I misspelled it. Sorry, everybody. I still do use the wood sauna, but if I were starting all over and getting a sauna, I would definitely start with the Relax Sauna for all the reasons we’ve discussed here.

[01:04:32:] Exploring Ozone Therapy: Benefits, Misconceptions, and Integrating with Relax Sauna

Ryan: Regarding ozone, I don’t want to spend too much time on it because that’s a whole webinar in and of itself. The biggest misconception is that ozone is purely bad for you because you hear about the ozone layer and warnings about breathing ozone. It’s an irritant to the lungs, and you should not breathe direct ozone, that is true. However, when I talk about our Going Integrative Plus calls and all the doctors who come on, many of them often bring up ozone as a top therapy they implement.

Ozone has a huge list of health benefits, much like the sauna. It’s not just anti-inflammatory or detoxifying, it’s also oxygenating your body. We live in a low-oxygen environment, often breathing shallowly, and we should be more intentional with our breaths. There’s a ton of research on the health and healing benefits of ozone.

We’re going to be turning these webinars into podcast episodes though I haven’t gotten there yet. If you want the replay of the Ozone webinar, let me know by emailing [email protected] and asking about it. At the end of the day, ozone is another powerful, all-encompassing therapy. It’s really great to have an ozone generator in your home.

The standard way to implement ozone therapy at home is rectal insufflation; You fill up a bag with ozone, attach a small tube to it, insert the tube rectally, and then squeeze the bag to get the ozone into your colon. This is the best way to systemically spread it throughout the body.

Another method, often seen in clinics or with expensive ozone saunas, is to pump ozone into a sauna while your pores are open from sweating. This allows you to systemically absorb the ozone into your body, not just putting it in your rectum and relying on it to travel to the rest of your body, which it does. It’s another way to systemically absorb ozone, and take it straight into the bloodstream, which provides all the oxygenation and other benefits that ozone offers. You take the ozone tube, and there’s a little attachment that makes sure it goes directly into the sauna. Phil, you’ve got the two zippers back there, this might be a good time for a little product demo.

[01:07:45] Integrating Ozone with Relax Sauna: Setup, Usage, and Longevity Insights

Phil Wilson: Right here, you can’t see it from there, but there’s a cord, and you have the zipper right here. You can put it through there.

Ryan: You can also put it through the little arm holes as well.

Phil Wilson: As for the life expectancy of the Relax Sauna, we tell doctors it lasts 5 to 7 years in a clinical setting, but we believe the life expectancy is actually 10 to 20 to 30 years. We’ve been promoting and selling it for 20 years. We have many customers who’ve had their saunas for 19 years, and they say it’s as good as new. One lady said her tent, after 10 years, is starting to wear like upholstery or furniture, but you can get new tents on the website for $375 each. The saunas are $1,500, and the tents cost us a lot to make. I used to think $375 was a lot, but that’s the price.

Ryan: Just to finish the thought, you’re fully enclosed in the wooden sauna, so if you tried to pipe ozone in there, you’d be breathing the ozone, which isn’t a good idea. But with the Relax Sauna, you can stick your head out, and you can put a little towel around the edge to make sure nothing escapes, although I don’t usually do that, and I still don’t really breathe much of the ozone, if at all. You can make your own little DIY ozone sauna.

You wouldn’t do the ozone with clothes on in the Relax Sauna, you can use it with the infrared sauna function while clothed, as Phil mentioned. The whole point with ozone is to have your pores open, and then the ozone comes in.

Phil Wilson: Yes, some people use the sauna for 20-25 minutes to open up their pores, and then they introduce the ozone for 20 minutes while others do it at the same time. I haven’t tested thoroughly to see which method works best, but those are two options you could do. Some of the ozone is dissipated by the heat, but not all of it. Some doctors recommend doing the sauna and ozone simultaneously, while others suggest doing the sauna first to open up the pores because you absorb so much more ozone afterward if you use heat first rather than skipping it.

Ryan: I love it. A couple of questions about recording. You will get a replay. The link you used to register for this will convert to the replay link after it processes, which I need to find out how long that takes, but I would say definitely within an hour. It converts to the replay link, and you can use that same link. Also, I’ll be sending out replay emails. I think Zoom automatically sends out an email as well, so you’ll definitely have the replay available. If all that fails, write to us, and we’ll get you the link for sure. What else do we have here?

[01:11:13] Addressing Concerns: Outgassing, EMF Safety, and Ozone Integration in Relax Sauna

Phil Wilson: We had some questions about outgassing. There was a time, for a couple of months, when we had problems with that, but we haven’t had any issues with the silver sauna or the black sauna since then. People now say there are no outgassing problems with the Relax Sauna. The situation in Taiwan has been fixed, so that doesn’t happen anymore. We’ve tested the sauna for volatile chemicals in a laboratory, and there’s no significant difference. Essentially, there’s not a problem with it.

As for EMF, we have four or five people who specialize in making homes safe from EMF in Southern California and Arizona. All of these people have Relax Saunas in their homes. If it wasn’t safe for EMF, they wouldn’t have one. Of the 21 most common household appliances, the Relax Sauna ranks as the third and seventh lowest in EMF emissions, depending on whether you measure from one inch or 12 inches.

There’s a guy named Peter who talks about radionics and has written a book on it. He’s had his Relax Sauna for 18 years. He said that this device is a microwave device and is 100 times more dangerous EMF-wise than any household appliance. However, Dr. Klinghardt, who introduced the dangers of Wi-Fi EMF to the Western world and was the first to bring this up even to Dr. Mercola, uses the Relax Sauna himself. His partner, who got a Relax Sauna from us at an Autism One conference, took it up to her hotel room, and in one session, the elbow pain she’d had for a year was gone. She gave us an interview and said, “No, there’s no EMF problem. The fluorescent lights in the building affect me more negatively than the sauna.”

When you look at these real-life examples, you see that the fear of EMF is 100,000 times more dangerous than the EMF itself. There are a few people who are sensitive to EMF. We had a musician in Philadelphia 10 years ago who went into the Relax Sauna. He said, “I can sense the EMF, but it’s not affecting me.” We say that the Relax Sauna, because it has five to nine times more loving far infrared light between 4 and 14 microns than any other sauna, actually antidotes the negative effects of EMF. If you’ve had damage caused by EMF in the past, the far infrared sauna, the Relax Sauna is something you might want to consider because it can help repair that damage.

In Japan, there’s research showing that far infrared energy antidotes the negative effects of EMF and even sunburn. We’ve put three people in the Relax Sauna with sunburn pain at a level of six or seven, and it brought them all down to a zero. They said, “This makes no sense; I have a sunburn, and you want me to go in there?” I say yes, and the pain goes away, and they can’t believe it because it’s the energy, the far infrared energy. This is an energy medicine device, not just a heater. It’s not a heater; it’s a lighter, but it doesn’t look like a lighter that fits in your pocket.

Ryan: I forgot to thank you for that, Phil. I also forgot to finish talking about the ozone specifically. Promo Life is the company we did the webinar with. I don’t have the link offhand for the replay, but if you want the replay of that webinar, write to us. They sell the little attachment to make sure the tube stays in and doesn’t leak.

[01:15:41] Temperature Control and Cleaning Tips for the Relax Sauna: A Practical Guide

Ryan: Someone asked about the temperature and controlling it in the Relax Sauna, Phil. Could you show them the high-tech temperature controls?

Phil Wilson: [Practical session with the Relax Sauna] This is the timer, just a timer. This is our sophisticated temperature control device, we call it a zipper. It’s digital because you use a digit (your finger) to operate it! This is how you control the temperature. The issue isn’t about it being too cold; it’s about getting too hot after you’ve been in it for a while. You can release the temperature by unzipping the zipper.

It’s also very easy to clean. After you’ve used the sauna for 20 minutes, you take the wet towels out, close it up, and turn it on for five or ten minutes. If you want, you can leave it on for 20 or 30 minutes. That’s how it self-cleans with negative ions, and the far infrared energy helps clean it out.

Basically, you use two towels. You fold one towel and place it on the chair—if you don’t, the chair will get wet. If the chair doesn’t get wet, then you don’t have much cleaning to do, then you drape another towel over it, and that’s how I use it. I do 20 minutes, sometimes I get out, take a shower, drink more water, and then do another 20 minutes. On a spa day for Phil, if I have the time, I’ll do a third session, and I’ll feel like I’ve been at the spa for nine hours.

[01:17:35] Maximizing Sauna Benefits: Temperature Control Insights and Continuous Far-Infrared Energy in Relax Sauna

Ryan: That’s what we always say when people ask about the best temperature, even with a wood sauna with digital controls and all that stuff; What’s the best temperature? How long should you stay in, all these sorts of things? Even when you have the temperature control, we always recommend starting low.

Phil Wilson: This was brought up to me the other day, and I said, “Oh my gosh, I forgot all about this.” When you’re in another infrared sauna and you reach the desired temperature, the sauna stops generating infrared energy. The Relax Sauna never stops, and that’s one of the reasons why it’s more effective. In other saunas, when you reach the set temperature, it stops, and when the temperature drops, it starts again. When it’s off, you’re not getting the benefits. Ideally, you want the energy generated all the time.

People can experiment with this. They can even take the radiators out. I don’t have a picture of a radiator with me, but it’s a double radiator with 20 semiconductor chips. It’s these semiconductor chips that deserve a Nobel Prize for being able to create far infrared energy that resonates with the water molecules in our body. It’s an amazing invention. Maybe in 20 or 30 years, people will say one of the greatest inventions ever made was the Relax Far Infrared Sauna semiconductor chip.

[01:19:16] Far Infrared vs. Near Infrared: Understanding Penetration, Efficacy, and Sauna Technology

Ryan: Someone asked about the difference between far infrared and near-infrared energy. Far infrared energy, especially between 4 and 14 microns, penetrates 30 to 40 millimeters into the body; Near infrared penetrates 1 to 2 millimeters. However, the near-infrared light bulbs penetrate only 1 to 2 millimeters, but if you have a near-infrared laser, that’s a specific frequency and a different tool that can penetrate nine inches and has nothing to do with increasing body temperature. It’s a separate modality that many holistic doctors praise. We go to conventions that promote these lasers, and people who sell those often also sell the Relax Sauna because they work well in conjunction.

Ryan: I’m glad you brought that up. We talked about that a lot last time. The same things people are saying about near infrared now, like its deep penetration into the body, that’s the same thing people are saying about near-infrared, but when you look at the research, it’s all based on the lasers, not the light bulbs that people are selling as near-infrared light sources. If you want those benefits, then get a big red LED panel, that’s going to be a lot more powerful than the light bulbs.

Phil Wilson: The red light therapies in saunas, I’m not convinced they make a significant impact. One sauna company told me they decided to include a red light because of peer pressure, as people were asking for it. The red lights are nice, and good machines cost a lot of money, they’re not just an extra hundred dollars. They work, they’re effective, and they can relieve pain, so they have their place. But with near-infrared saunas, they often refer you to research done with lasers, not light bulbs.

We have research from 2004 that points out that the Relax Sauna energy, 150 watts from the Relax Sauna lamp was significantly more effective in penetrating deeper in pigs, mice, and humans, and in increasing circulation. This research was presented at the biophotonic conference in Taiwan.

Ryan: Or like the so-called “full spectrum” wood saunas that advertise as full spectrum, they really play up the near-infrared, but it’s just a little LED light at the top of the sauna.

Phil Wilson: Near-infrared light penetrates one to two millimeters, which is why they say it’s good for the skin. But far infrared penetrates 1.5 to 2 inches, or 30 to 40 millimeters, which is about 20 to 40 times deeper. It also benefits the skin, so whatever near infrared does for the skin, far infrared does as well.

No other sauna company sells a lamp like ours. We have a small lamp with a gooseneck and a big professional lamp, both of which are very effective. The semiconductor chips in these lamps are far more effective than a near-infrared 250-watt Philips light bulb in terms of penetrating deeper and increasing circulation.

If you have a lamp using a carbon panel, you have to be kidding, it wouldn’t be very effective. The lamp by itself is a testament to the fact that it’s not the heat, it’s the energy, and we can do it.

We had a compliment the other day. We had someone try to buy 10 of our radiators the other day because they wanted to reverse-engineer it. They realized that the Relax Sauna was the superior sauna because the technology was more advanced. All saunas are good, and people rave about all the saunas. I say, yes when you live four miles from a grocery store and someone gives you a bicycle, you’re excited because it’s so much easier, but if someone gives you a Chevy Chevette, you’re even more excited, and if someone gives you a Mercedes, you’re really excited. The Relax Sauna is the Mercedes of saunas, and portable saunas are like bicycles, they’re all good. I had my portable sauna for a year, and I loved it. I really enjoyed it, but I didn’t realize there was a greater amount of joy that could be experienced. That’s what the Relax Sauna gives you, it gives you more joy than any other sauna.

Ryan: I’m also glad you brought up the issue with the wood saunas that turn off when they reach a certain temperature. I intuitively started opening the door every once in a while to let it cool down a couple of degrees so the heaters would kick back on. That’s a big deal.

I should have mentioned this at the beginning: Please don’t take anything you hear here as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always work with your doctor and all that fun stuff.

Phil Wilson: The Relax Sauna is cheaper to get from us if you live in Canada.

[01:25:40] Using Saunas for Cold, Flu, and COVID: Insights and Practical Tips

Ryan: The question earlier was about using a sauna with active COVID. Would there be any advice on that?

Phil Wilson: Dr. Kerry Moses, who we have an interview with on RelaxSaunas.com/YouTube, talked about how the sauna nips a cold or flu in the bud. This was eight years ago. We haven’t done any research on what happens if you get vaccinated, but people who’ve had COVID have told us that the Relax Sauna has been instrumental in making their recovery easier. We don’t make any claims but believe me, I would use it.

Ryan: I’m glad you brought up cold and flu because that’s an easier way to talk about it. Whenever I feel something coming on, the first thing I do is go hardcore on sauna sessions. Even before I had the Relax Sauna, with other saunas, that was the very first thing I did whenever I started feeling under the weather. I’d do more sauna than usual, and that usually knocks it out right there.

Phil Wilson: You can use the Relax sauna for 3,5, or 7 minutes with your clothes on, to help relieve pain, four or five times a day. That’s a good treatment. Most people use the sauna for 20 minutes at night for a complete sweat, or 20 minutes in the morning for a complete sweat. To answer the question of how long you should use it, trust your intuition. There are no strict rules; the rule is to listen to your body. If it feels good, stay in. If you feel like you need to get out, then get out and drink water. The one contraindication is dehydration.

Ryan: Don’t drink water…/ while you’re in the sauna because that can…

Phil Wilson: You can drink water.

Ryan: I was going to say that drinking water while in the sauna can dilute the core body temperature increase if you’re aiming for that. But yes, get well-hydrated before and after, and you’re good to go.

[01:28:09] Addressing Specific Health Concerns: Targeting Areas with Relax Sauna’s Far Infrared Energy

Ryan: Here’s a question: “Does the chair in the Relax Sauna block the healing benefits to the anal cancer area?”

Phil Wilson: It goes through the nylon in the chair because it goes through clothes as well. However, you can always buy the lamp or take the radiator out and position it directly in front of that area or any other area.

[01:28:39] Managing High Blood Pressure with Relax Sauna: Experiences and Considerations

Ryan: “What about high blood pressure? Any considerations for folks with high blood pressure?”

Phil Wilson: There are thousands of examples of people telling me that their high blood pressure has been lowered by using the Relax Sauna. For anyone with high blood pressure, I’d say the Relax Sauna is going to become your best friend. This is off the record, I’m not making any medical claims here, but most people report to us that it lowers blood pressure. If you study saunas, you’ll see that’s one of the benefits, they tend to reduce blood pressure. We’ve seen this over and over again. However, if you have extremely low blood pressure, you might want to be cautious and use the sauna gingerly.

Ryan: I noticed there are a few current Relax Sauna owners here who love it so much they want to join the session. Bobby said she’s had hers for two years and has seen improvements in mold exposure, heavy metals, CRS, and PTSD. She keeps it in the closet right below her basement stairs. That’s another thing; it’s way easier to place in your house than the big wooden ones, and it takes about a hundredth of the time to set up.

Phil Wilson: The Relax Sauna lamp is available on our website, RelaxSaunas.com. You can get the table lamp.

[01:30:23] Detoxing with Relax Sauna: Head Inside or Out? Exploring the Benefits of Both Options

Ryan: Here’s a good question. This is also why I was hesitant about portable saunas for a long time: “Why is the head outside of the sauna? Wouldn’t you want to detox the head area too?”

Phil Wilson: You do a detox. For example, if you have sinus problems, they’ll clear up in eight minutes with your head out. If you want to put your head inside, they’ll clear up in about two minutes. The whole body benefits… there are so many people who prefer having their head out. For instance, there’s a man who owns a compounding pharmacy in Arizona, and his wife would never go into his wooden sauna, but she came to our booth four times a day. He got her the Relax Sauna, and now she uses it every day. A lot of people don’t want their head inside because they have trouble breathing, but I like to say we’re pro-choice, we give you the choice to put your head inside or outside. Personally, I keep my head inside about 50-60% of the time and outside 40-50% of the time. I’ll show you how easy it is.

Ryan: There he goes…

Phil Wilson: [Demonstrating] You can tuck your head inside like this, and after three or four minutes, you can come back up, it’s like a turtle sauna.

[01:31:54] Using Relax Sauna for Children: Guidelines and Benefits

Ryan: That also relates well to Vanessa’s question about children using the sauna. It’s true for the Relax Sauna, and for any sauna really, it’s the same advice: listen to your body and listen to your child. You are the parent, be in tune with your child; Start low and slow, and work your way up.

Phil Wilson: Most children love going in for five to seven minutes at a time. If they’re younger than 10 or 11, they might want to come out once they start sweating. As they become teenagers and athletes, they love to sweat. One mother with a child who has autism shared that on the way to school, her child asked, “Mom, can I go to the sauna?” She said, “Sure,” and after five minutes in the sauna, he came out a different kid, really relaxed and mellow. It’s very relaxing, which is fitting since it’s called the Relax Sauna.

[01:33:06] Using Relax Sauna for Heart Conditions: Insights on Atrial Fibrillation and Therapeutic Benefits

Phil Wilson: What is atrial fib? I should know that, but I don’t. Do you know, Ryan?

Ryan: I know it’s a cardio-related issue.

Phil Wilson: The Mayo Clinic recommends far infrared saunas as extremely therapeutic for heart patients, but they advise against regular saunas or hot tubs for these patients. The reason is that you want an equilibrium between the inside temperature of the body and the outside. If the outside gets hot without the inside temperature getting hot, like with Finnish saunas, which don’t increase the body temperature much, maybe only half a degree, that’s why the Mayo Clinic says don’t use them. If atrial fibrillation is like that…

Ryan: It’s an irregular and often very rapid heart rhythm.

Phil Wilson: Then the Relax Sauna may be very soothing for it. It might calm and relax you, potentially even reducing anxiety. We do offer a 30-day money-back guarantee because we know that trying the sauna can make a big difference. When you tried it in Phoenix, Ryan, that made the difference, didn’t it? You noticed how quickly it heated up and that special kind of warmth and love, like a hug from your grandma.

Ryan: Just like a hug from grandma.

Phil Wilson: We have the 30-day money-back guarantee because you’re not at a show trying this out, and we want to make sure you experience that “oh my gosh, this is better than sliced bread” feeling.

[01:34:50] Combining Relax Sauna with Chemotherapy and Fasting: Insights and Best Practices

Ryan: “Someone asked about doing chemo and biological treatment while fasting for four days, does it help to use the Relax Sauna at the same time?”

Phil Wilson: I talked to Dr. Akpanar, a cancer doctor in New York who does ozone therapy and uses the Relax Sauna. He wrote the book “No Sweat? Know Sweat!” which is a history of saunas and sweating in the world. He definitely recommends using the Relax Sauna during chemotherapy, it’s very helpful. Different doctors have different opinions, but I agree with Ryan; Listen to your body, tune in, and intuitively, you’ll know what’s best. If it makes you feel good and helps a lot, then go for it.

Ryan: We had this question come up before, and someone asked for clarification. It’s about our Going Integrative Plus community, where we have a different cancer doctor once a week, and people get to ask them whatever they want. One thing we’ve always emphasized is not to do something like hardcore IV chelation at the same time as chemo because that can stir everything up and be too much for your body to handle all at once. You probably would experience some negative effects if you did that, but as far as keeping things moving, if you’re doing chemo, you want chemo to do its job. We didn’t use the sauna for Ryder on the day of chemo because most chemos have a 12-hour half-life, so they’re doing the brunt of their work within those 12 hours. After that, the effects start to wear off. The next day, once it’s done what you want it to do, you want to get it out of your system. That’s where the sauna comes in, keeping things moving.

[01:37:17] Safety of Relax Sauna: EMF, Electrical Fields, and Compatibility with Implants and Pacemakers

Phil Wilson: Someone mentioned to me that the Relax Sauna had a slightly higher electrical field, while the magnetic fields were very low. However, they noted that the benefits of the Relax Sauna far exceeded any potential drawbacks from having a slightly higher electrical field, the ELF. I forget who that was, but they are a strong proponent of the Relax Sauna. They emphasized that the EMF was extremely low.

Another thing I wanted to mention is about pacemakers, titanium rods, and similar implants, none of those things are affected by the sauna. The only thing affected inside your body is the water molecules, hence every cell of the body, but only the organic cells. Breast implants and other similar materials are not affected. You can safely use the Relax Sauna with all those things.

[01:38:10] Using Relax Sauna for Adrenal Fatigue and POTS: Potential Benefits and Considerations

Ryan: “What about POTS and adrenal fatigue?” Any considerations with adrenal fatigue or POTS?

Phil Wilson: I’m familiar with POTS but can’t recall the details right now. For adrenal fatigue, the Relax Sauna is really going to help relax you and support your adrenal function. It’s going to be very beneficial for any kind of adrenal problems. Once you experience the Relax Sauna, it becomes a no-brainer. People need to experience it for themselves. I don’t know if there’s any specific research on it, but we do offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, and very few people return it due to health concerns.

Ryan: What else do we have here? Lots of questions that have already been covered. Phil, let me know if you see anything else that I’m missing.

[01:39:11] Boosting Energy and Recovery: Fasting, Niacin Protocols, and Relax Sauna Benefits

Phil Wilson: It’s not a steam sauna, all you need is electricity for the plug. As I mentioned, I’ve been fasting for two and a half days now, and that’s when the sauna becomes one of your best friends. If you’ve been fasting and you’re feeling weak, getting in the sauna really energizes you. It activates the parasympathetic nervous system, floods your body with oxygen, and stimulates the mitochondria to create ATP and nitric oxide.

This reminds me of the questions about niacin. If L. Ron Hubbard, who created the niacin protocol for saunas, knew about far infrared saunas, he wouldn’t recommend spending four hours in a far infrared sauna, he would say to go into a Relax Sauna for 45 minutes to an hour, and it would do everything that a Finnish sauna could do in four or five hours. The group itself doesn’t seem to feel comfortable saying, “Now that we have new technology in the world, use this.” But I am sure that if L. Ron Hubbard knew about far infrared saunas, he would have recommended them. The key to all of life is listening to inner guidance. When you listen to inner guidance, it’s like listening to God, what I call “God-listening,” or “glistening.” When you listen to the innermost part of yourself, you start to glisten. I like that. Tune into your inner guidance. In the final analysis, it’s good to get opinions from others, but your own experience is what really matters. It’s very important to learn to have absolute reliance on it.

Ryan: Somebody mentioned that the MITO Red Light link I shared has the regular prices and doesn’t show the discount.

[01:41:20] No More Off-Gassing: Improved Manufacturing and Quick Warm-Up in Relax Sauna

Ryan: Amy said she didn’t notice any off-gassing smell when she got her sauna. When you open something new, like an appliance, and you get that strong whiff, you might think, “Wow, this is really off-gassing, I should set it outside for a few days before using it.” But that’s not the case with the Relax Sauna. I didn’t smell anything from day one when I opened it.

Phil Wilson: We did have a problem with that some time ago, but it’s been resolved. We used to have to outgas it for a couple of days, but now we do that in Taiwan before they assemble the tents. We’ve not had any problems since then. You don’t have to preheat the tent either, it takes 30 seconds to warm up. If the sauna is in a 40-degree garage, it might make sense to preheat it a bit, but most of the time, in my house, I go in, and within 30 seconds, it’s hot, and I’m feeling warm, loved, and hugged.

[01:42:32] Understanding Ozone Therapy: Benefits of Absorption vs. Breathing and the Power of Relax Sauna for Detox

Ryan: “How is absorbing ozone through the pores to get it into the bloodstream good for you, but breathing ozone isn’t?” Ozone is an irritant to the lungs specifically, but when it gets into your blood and tissues, that’s where all the good stuff happens.

Phil Wilson: There’s a lady named Paula Schofield from the Desert Hot Springs area. She had a wooden sauna for many years, but it didn’t help her with toxic mold. About 10 or 12 years ago, she got the Relax Sauna, and oh my gosh, miracles happened; Her life was transformed, and now she radiates health. There’s a YouTube video of her on RelaxSaunas.com/YouTube, or you can go to our YouTube channel, search for “Relax Sauna testimonials,” and then put in “mold.” Her video will come up. It’s also on the RelaxSaunas.com/superior page. It’s about an 8-minute interview where she talks about how the sauna helped her, and she’s also an EMF person, someone who goes into homes to make them safe.

We have a lot of credentials, and a lot of anecdotes, and we’re starting to get more research. There’s a man whose company did research on the Relax Sauna and found that it increased muscle oxygen by 48%, while most other saunas only increased it by about 20 to 25%. There’s a marked difference with the Relax Sauna. Dr. Roger Belica in Colorado said that when his patients who aren’t natural sweaters start sweating, there’s a noticeable improvement in their recovery.

Some people don’t sweat easily, but with the Relax Sauna, we’ve seen success. One of our distributors in Washington, who’s been using the sauna for 12 years and has only missed about five days in that time, considers herself a “midwife for sweaters.” She’s confident that if you haven’t sweated before, she can get you to sweat. For one lady, it took 51 minutes, but she finally started sweating, and four doctors had their credit cards ready to buy Relax Saunas after seeing that.

We had two dental assistants who hadn’t sweated in 10 or 20 years, and I got them both to sweat within 20 minutes. You will be able to sweat with the Relax Sauna if you have trouble sweating. Non-methylators sometimes have issues, but with the Relax Sauna, they can still sweat. If you increase your body temperature by one degree, according to a nutritional doctor who spoke at a conference, you’ll be able to increase your absorption of nutrients by 20% when you eat.

Ryan: Sorry, everyone, just skimming through.

Phil Wilson: I understand that, I was doing the same myself.

[01:45:29] Relax Sauna for Mold and Lyme Disease: Testimonials, Benefits, and Practical Use

Phil Wilson: Mold is a horrible issue in this country and probably in other countries as well. The Relax Sauna is one of your best friends for dealing with it. There’s the 30-day money-back guarantee, the one-year warranty, and it will last 10 to 20 years, or who knows, it could last 30 to 40 years.

Ryan: Oh, man, Sean is living 20 miles away from the train derailment and really wants to purchase one. That would be a good idea, definitely do everything you can to detox.

Phil Wilson: Lyme disease: The first time we went to the ILADS Lyme conference, we sold 43 saunas in one weekend. That’s not as many as we sold after your interview last time, but still. People with Lyme disease really benefit from the sauna. We have 16 video testimonials on YouTube, including one guy who said 90% of his symptoms were gone in 3 weeks. Another naturopathic doctor shared that his wife, who had Lyme disease and was at 75% functioning, was told by her doctor, “This is all I can do now. You need to get an infrared sauna.” They got a Relax Sauna from us, and within a short period of time, she was at 95% functioning. She used it every day for a while and now uses it three times a week. We’ve had a lot of people say that it’s transformed their lives and given them their life back.

Ryan: Just to clarify—no, it’s not a steam sauna, and it doesn’t need to be near a water source. It’s portable; You can fold it up and store it wherever, but we have ours set up in one spot, and it stays there. It’s really easy to move around, though, and if you want to take it somewhere, you can fold it up, put it in a little bag, and you’re good to go.

Phil Wilson: I remember one lady at a conference in Tampa about 12 years ago, it was the Louise Hay conference. She said, “Oh, I don’t want to get in the sauna because I ate meat. I’m usually a vegetarian.” I told her, “No, this is the time to go in,” and it totally cleared up her problem. You can use it after dinner, it’s one of the best things to do after dinner, or even before dinner. In other words, it’s always good.

Ryan: That’s a good idea. The lamp is also available on RelaxSaunas.com.

[01:48:09] Understanding the Relax Lay-Down Sauna: Effectiveness, Differences, and User Experiences

Ryan: Lastly, there were a couple of questions about the lay-down version on the site. I’m sorry, everyone, but I’ve got to jump off soon because I have our Going Integrative Plus member call, and I haven’t eaten today, I should probably eat before that starts. Phil, can you talk about the lay-down version real quick and what the difference is between that and the standard one?

Phil Wilson: Basically, we need at least 700 watts to make an impact, and the fact that the lie-down sauna is 800 watts is good enough to get the job done. We believe the lie-down sauna is as effective as the sit-up sauna. However, I personally use the sit-up Relax Sauna about 97% of the time. If you already have a sit-up sauna, consider getting the lie-down sauna as well. It’s nice to have both, and even with both, it’s still way cheaper than a wooden sauna. You can use the lie-down sauna on your bed, a massage table, a yoga mat, or the floor, and it will get the job done.

Karen Russell got the lie-down sauna. She had heavy metal toxicity from lead and mercury for 25 months. Her blood reports were not good, and her health was a mess. She got the Relax Sauna, and within 30 days, her blood reports came back normal with no problems related to mercury or lead. She was using the lie-down sauna. The lie-down sauna that Dr. Klinghardt’s partner took up to her hotel room was also a lie-down sauna, and it got rid of her elbow pain. We get the same kind of results 90% of the time from the lie-down sauna as we do from the sit-up sauna.

I prefer the sit-up sauna, but some people love to lie down, they really enjoy it. One lady at a cancer conference in San Francisco got into a lie-down sauna and ended up trading in her $2,700 lie-down sauna for a $200 credit on the purchase of a Relax lie-down sauna because she said it was a night-and-day difference. The Relax Sauna, whether it’s the lie-down or the sit-up version, is excellent. Again, we stand behind our 30-day money-back guarantee, the one-year warranty, and the fact that they last 10 to 20 years or more.

Ryan: I love it. CJ, it’s not a bad idea to put a towel on the floor, I usually do, but the big thing is putting a towel on the chair. If you put a towel on the floor, just make sure it’s not blocking the heaters. Don’t stack it up too high.

All right, Phil, another awesome webinar. Thanks for sticking around for all the questions. If anyone has any questions that weren’t answered, shoot me an email at [email protected], and I’m sure Phil could take your questions as well. What’s your contact email, Phil?

Phil Wilson: [email protected]. I’ll be more than happy to answer your questions. I want to thank you, Ryan, again for this interview and the webinar. It gives me great joy to educate people and dispel the myths. There are so many myths about near-infrared and so much fear-mongering about EMF. People don’t seem to realize that it’s not the heat in the sauna that’s important, it’s increasing the body temperature; That’s what far infrared is all about.

It’s about cutting through the noise and focusing on what really matters: fulfilling Hippocrates’ dream of increasing body temperature, creating a fever and then sweating. Even without sweating, you still gain a lot of benefits. That’s how the body heals itself; You give it the power to heal by getting in touch with that deeper part of you, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, and getting the conscious mind out of the way. It gets you in tune with the divine so that you can listen and be clear.

The sauna cleanses and purifies your body. Every cell is cleansed by the light, just like how water in a washing machine cleanses every fiber of the clothes, every cell is cleansed. You feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally, and you feel in tune with the divine. This connection allows you to serve as a vehicle for spirit to uplift others.

That’s the purpose, to give you joy and to purify you. It’s about the purification of all the bodies. I really appreciate this opportunity to help people, to assist them in tuning into who they are, to have healthier bodies, and to cleanse their emotions and mental thoughts.

Ryan: What more could you ask for? All right, everybody, thanks for coming. This has been great. Thank you, Phil, lots of fun. I really love geeking out with you on all this stuff. Keep an eye on your emails from me; we’ve got a lot more of these coming up on what I consider to be the coolest, best, most important products to have around. Phil, we’ll get you back on down the road as well because this is going to be a regular feature for us. All right, everybody, we’ll see you guys.

Phil Wilson: Thanks so much.
